Hordes Fortress

I`m in the Hordes Fortress (I think it`s chapter 1). I`ve wiped everthing out but I can`t go any further cos there`s a door that I can`t open.
I think I`m supposed to have 2 wardstones, but I only have 1.
If this is the problem, is there any way around this?
I`ve been back to the underground and haven`t managed to find the other stone.
If the worst comes to the worst, is it possible to use a cheat to obtain the wardstone? It`s just that I`m reluctant to start all over again.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
davfra

ward stones

Yes, I thought that was the case, but I went back and now there`s no sign of the wardstone, so I`m stuck if there`s no other solution.
Seems a bad fault to me. I`m using a walkthrough and still managed to miss it.
Without re-starting, it seems the game`s finished for me.
Not sure I`ll bother to go on.

If you've lost a wardstone (rested and its dissapeared for example), don't lose heart. Search this forum for "cheats", open the console and type the cheat commands to spawn the item you need. Doesn't make sense to abandon the game, so its not *really* cheating, per se.

If you haven't rest or you still have a save game before the carnage :D Here's some run down :
-. The iron ward stone --> can be obtained after you kill the orcs by "farm" (it's the place where it has cows & dogs caged) while the orcs seems preparing the meat for rations
-. The black ward stone --> follow the path and you meet another band of orcs. After the carnage you get the iron ward stone.

HINT : Try pressing ALT key to highlight items. Sometime multiple corpse cover the items - you might want to check more careful by running the mouse pointer and examine it carefully since the ALT key does not highlight it :(

In case you wanna cheat by creating the item you can use DaleKeeper 2 or (Highlight for other cheating option) alternatively use build-in cheat by first selecting the cheat option to be "on" via IWD2 config util then type : ctrlaltdelete:CreateItem("30BSTONE") for Black Ward stone and ctrlaltdelete:CreateItem("30ISTONE") for Iron Ward stone

Calling Kid01

Many thanks for that. I`ve now got the stone and can carry on.
All I`ve got to do, now that I`ve started cheating, is to resist giving my party a few of those lovely goodies.
I didn`t know the cheat method for this game, so your help was appreciated.
Cheers,

davfra

@Davfra, instead of putting responses to a particular person in a separate thread, you can just add your responses to the thread that's around. Or PM Kid001. ;)

@davra : cheat or not to cheat it's all depend on your point of view :) Glad to help anyway. In the future you can use the forum PM feature for personal posts ;)

@Count Le Grunt : Perhaps you should close this thread to prevent any SPAM ITF :)
