Charming items

How the hell do I charm an item??? I tried putting a few points in the skill and drop a gem on an item that can be charmed, but nothing happens. What do I have to do?

Click on the item itself and, if it can hold a charm, a unique window will open with at least one slot into which you can place the charm. If you feel like cheesing the skill a bit, open multiple windows and drop a charm into each one...kinda makes a real easy game far too easy though, so use at your own risk

BTW: Thanks for all the feedback guys, I did enjoy this game a bunch (a lot like the 'ol Ultima 7). Now I guess I'll finish Arx Fatalis and get busy with Tribunal...L8r

Why? So you can have the answer, and somebody else can't? Or is it that you're just flipping through Divine Divinity websites, and want to acquire all the information without taking part in any board's activities?
