i was just woundering if your using rod of terror while Ring of Human Influance is euiped will rod of terror still lower the charisma of your character

There's no reason why it should not drain your natural stats - altough I wonder if you die as long as the ring is still equipped and cha is drained to 0.

This leads to a pretty funny idea: A character has equipped both items and doesn't realize that his natural charisma is already drained to 0, takes off the ring and drops dead from instant uglyness. I have to try this on one my "favorite" characters one day ...

A fun exploit using the Rod of Terror (aka the Ugly Stick) and the Ring of Human Influence is to equip the Ring and use the Rod so that your CHA drops below 0. Because the game doesn't account for negative ability scores your CHA will wrap around to 25.

What a good cheat! I tried it and if you take of the ring when your charisma is 0 you die. If you take it of when it is or should have been -1 you have 25, permanent.
Wonder what happens if you dont give in to your wrath in hell... do you then die of attractiveness?? Hopefully not, or maybe the machine of lum the mad can kill you hehe.

well, you can reequipp the rod and wail at some more goblins until charisma is 24, cause the hell bonus can only be given to pc....

oh btw, if you have char of 25, dont evil party members never leave you even with super high rep???

actaully with nymph cloak, sensate amulet, and sword of baldy, i can get using use any item exploit, get near 25 with all the bonuses anyway....

if you installed tactics mod, the improved saughin city, the fish archers fire called shot at you, draining str.....

so equipp a belt of str, and walk in without stoneskin or even armor, the belt SETS your str to 19 or 21 or whatever, then wait until you get hit enough so your str is like 1 or 2, then immediately take belt off, your drained str should be -1, thus you keep 25 str?????????????????????????????????

nope, too risky and too cheesy even for me....i mean i already have crom feyr,.....

temporary drain like that will drain your strength regardless if you are wearing a belt or not. Haven't you ever been hit by a shadow wearing a strength belt?

i know...i was just on a cheesy mind trip...hehheheheheh.....

Well, I can't take credit for it. I heard it from someone on alt.games.baldurs-gate (usenet).

To answer your question, no, anything that would raise your CHA once it's already 25 will have no effect; so you don't have to worry about 'dying of attractiveness'.

This wonderful cheat has now been updated. Roll up a character with minimum stats, equip strength belt, gauntlet of dexterity, girdle of fortitude. Now head over to WK and randomly press the machine of lum the mad. You'll end up losing ability points, once they are below 0 you actually have 25 hehe.
