Quick question about Side quests & Chapters

Is it possible to do some of the side quests IN baldur's gate once I completed the game?
I planned to do a lot of side quests right before I confront Sarevok......but once I realized he killed about half of the people that initiate quests, I realized that I couldn't complete most of my quests in chapter seven
Is it possible to go back and do a lot of quests after I complete the game? I have Tales of the Sword Coast (It came w/ the original game), so it isn't as if I can't play any longer once I kick Sarevok's ass..
