Weapon Finesse question

Ok I'm a little confused on wep finesse. I use a rapier and shortsword so do all strength modifiers instead get modified by dex with those weapons, including damage? If so, would strength just be useless then? Also, are there lots of components for forged weps throughtout the game, because I'm afraid if I make something in chpt one, I wont have the component to make it's better version later on. Thnx for the help!

Weapon finesse uses Dex on to hit rolls only. Str is still used for damage.

I wouldn't worry too much about components. You don't get to modify weapons again until Chapter 3. You should get what you need before then.

ok thnx, but I only have a strength of 12 which gives +1 and I can upgrade now to 13 since I'm turning lvl 8 but wont get the +2 bonus until i upgrade it again at lvl 12. Do you think I should put the attribute point in something else?

Really depends on what sort of character you want. Having 14 str will only give you an extra 1 damage which isn't going to make much of a difference overall.

With my fighter/rogue I concentrated on increasing dex (with stats and items).

With my characters I always plan out what stats, feats and items I want, so I know where I'm going.
