Dual-Class

Post by DougEFresh525 »

Wondering if you all could help me. When I start a new game, with a character who has the ability to take a second class (human, thief, fighter, etc.) when is the earliest that the dual-class icon will light up so I will be able to choose this option? Is there something I have to do first, like gain some experience points, or have to get out of the dungeon? I've never had that icon light up and always wondered how to dual-class with a character. Thanks, any help will be appreciated. Also, is this ability open to NPC characters in your group? Thanks.

For the dual-class button to light up, you must have a 15 or higher in the primary attribute(s) of your current class, and a 17 or higher in the primary attribute(s) of any class the character wishes to dual to. The classes available for dualling to depends not only on the attributes, but the alignment as well.

Ex. To dual a berserker to a druid, your berserker must have a 15 STR, 17 WIS, and 17 CHA, and must be True Neutral.

Oh, and you MUST be human.

If you meet these requirements you could dual-class at the very beginning of BGII if you wanted to. Of course, look at any previous threads here to get a better idea of when you really should dual.

Hmm, well, Imoen, Nalia, and Anomen are already dual-classed from the start.

Yoshimo can dual-class to fighter; of course, he's unreliable (if you don't know what I mean, don't ask).

A certain NPC you get in ToB can dual-class to mage or to thief if you wish.

I think that's it.
