OK, listen to this;

Firstly, my Shadows of Amn CD 2 isnt recognised by the D drive, and this is the third time I have had troubles with that cd, I have actually had to buy a whole new Baldur's Gate II game twice!
Then, after months of waiting, horrible horrible waiting, I finnaly get my hands on ToB in Australia (no easy task) and THE DAMN THING CRASHES EVERY TIME I ENTER AMKETHRAN!!!!!

What have I done to deserve this? Why is it that this one game is forbidden to me?

1) Move your savegame directory.
2) Uninstall SoA and ToB.
3) Use RegEdit to search your registry for remaining entries referring to the two games. Remove 'em.
4) Reinstall.
5) Move your savegame directory back.

If it still won't work, the problem may be due to memory conflicts with something else running in your system tray or behind the scenes.

Maybe, you can try installing in another computer; if it works, then you can be sure that it is not a CD problem. Then you can do what Fable suggests. Please install all the latest patches for SoA and ToB.

@ Daragen, if you get any issues with disks, speak to the people at Interplay, and they can replace the disks at a fraction of the cost of buying the new game again, especially when you have to search long and hard for a game that's not easy to replace.

If Fable's idea fails, make sure the patch is installed, or check the Throne of Bhaal forums for any issues that may already lay on there.

Thankee very much peepz. I did a massive check of every file related to either of the two games, but I dont think Im gonna uninstall BG II, due to the problems with disk two, I might not be able to reinstall. I found the problem, however it couldnt be permanentally fixed, so I dont know how long I have before it worsens.

well, it could be your cd-drive that's fked up :/
neways, with "not accepting" do you mean that when you run baldur.exe it says install instead of play?
if so, uninstall and install again :/

i believe that's only a w98 bug though :/
uninstalling the game isn't all that bad, just make sure you store your savegames.

@Gobester, please watch the substitutions or abbreviations for vulgarity. The site owner doesn't want any complaints from parents. You can read his rules here. Thanks. :)

By the way, globester, "fked" isn't in the dictionary. Sorry to ruin your day. :p But anyway, this isn't a Scrabble board, dear, as an established on-line community, there is always required netiquette. That's in the dictionary too, perhaps you should look it up and use it. :D

Not to mention that it's Buck's board. His house, we play by his rules. He's a bit more lax in the SYM (Speak Your Mind) forum area, but even there, the rules apply. Hope you can abide by 'em, and stick around. ;)
