Strongholds for Multiplayer Characters ?

Post by Sly »

I've read many of the threads regarding multiple stronholds, but I haven't found an answer to this question. We have 5 guys playing a multiplayer game. When we get to the stronghold area, is there a way where we can all get a quest for our appropriate class? I read somewhere where the protagonist is the only one able to do that. Is there any way that you can change the protagonist, so we can cycle all of our characters through that spot. I'd hate for all of us not to be able to do our stronghold quests. It seems like we're already missing a little bit of the story/experience by not having that many NPCs within our party(Romances, Side Quests, Etc.) Assuming you can cycle the protagonist, can several people be on a similiar quest at the same time, I'd guess not. We have a mage, paladin, ranger/cleric, ranger, and fighter/thief.

Yes, only the protagonist can get a stronghold. Yes, you can change the main character when you reload if you have saved the character somewhere.

But this can cause problems with reputation (it reverts to the base reputation of the lead PC -- 9 to 12 depending on alignment). And it can have a major influence on the storyline (romances, Child of Bhaal, etc.).

Most, if not all, of the Stronghold Quests are still available without changing the lead PC. You are just not offered the stronghold or the magic items. You may sacrifice a few XP. No big loss.

As for NPC story lines, Jaheira is the only one that has a major plot thread that can't be played without her.
