What kind of weapons do you use and why ? And do different type of weapons indeed do different types of damage ? IE does a warhammer knock someone down more often ? What weapons do you prefer and why ? and what did you enchant them with ?

Although I use a lot of weapons (many weapons that I find I try out before selling them) I prefer my Deadric bow which I enchanted with a constant effect agility bonus. I like to kill from a distance, usually one shot is enough, but it's also nice when an enemy has some health left to run towards you while you leisurely draw the next arrow for the final shot.

Bow and arrow combined with sneaking is very powerful. The arrow hitting alerts the enemy and they will run towards the source but in the mean time you can move to another location, still sneaking, for the second shot.

I saw many people don't like cliff racers. I love them, they make good target practice. I'm always practicing to shoot them down from a looong distance.

Also the area effect arrows that you can buy from the fletcher in Vivec are nice when enemies are huddling close together.

If someone or something does get close, I have a Daedric Dai-Katana with something like a 20 absorb health enchantment, to be cast on strike. Which is tricky when used on reflecting enemies..

I actually also used bow and arrow combined with the daedric dai katana with absorb life. Tho I got the feeling there might be a nicer combo out there somewhere and wouldn't mind hearing about it from other people.

dai katana was cool, but after i got keening used it ever since, great short sword

You can use your 2-handed weapon and still have the benefits of your enchanted shield - just equip the shield first and the weapon over it. The shield stays equiped (what even might be seen in neutral stance) and enchantment's still working. I've thought everybody knows it.

Not everybody dwells in lore. I, for example, did not know that.
Not that I had actively thought about it..but it is nice to know.

I knew you can wear clothes and armour at the same time, except for gloves and shoes. I do it often, although wearing a robe troubles me when I'm aiming my bow. The sleeves are in the way.

In reality, I think I would wear pants and a shirt underneath my armour, I think it would be more comfortable

Errrr....a stupid question. Just how you get constant effect enchantment? Higher levels perhaps? I´m now at 35, but a bit confused still how enchanting works.

If you use the Grand Gem with the soul of Golden Saint or Ascended Sleeper (or Vivec ) in you have the third choice "Constant effect" (of course, the item should be wearable, so, say a sheet of paper does not fit).

Read manual!? Are you nuts? Never....ok, just kidding. there it was on page 35. Thanks. My mistake.

There was also a little error when I bought the game. The manual was in Italian, and it wasn´t the only one in the shop that was.
Shame on local Ubisoft dealer. Still, I love the game.

I wonder why they do that. What use is the game if you can't understand English?

There are countries with certain law to protect national language and culture, mostly against americanisation.

Well, i almost never use unenchanted weapons and almost never originally enchanted (sort of Goldbrand). Also i rarely use Dwarven or Glass and stick to steel and silver to jump to Daedric at the end. The reason is if i'm going to develop some skill (Long Blade, for example) i definitely do not wish one killing an opponent on one hit After i'm 90-100 in Long Blade i do not care and switch to Daedric (usually i have plenty of them on that moment ).
Favorite enchamtments at low levels (low HP is the problem, isn't it?) is Absorb Health on strike (with possible addition of Soultrap for 2-3 secs). Later i mostly use the weaponry with 9-20% Weakness to Shock + Shock Damage keeping also similar weapon with Fire instead of Shock for Storm Antronaches and undead.
Of course, the Bows are quite different because they never come in contact with opponent (in real life you can take the bow and strike them between the ears , in the game you just cannot). So there almost any enchantment goes (the most important there is to be enchanted at all), although some Markmanship support might be preferable (say, Fortify Agility) - or Sanctuary comes in mind, just in case of returned fire.
Since i love Bretons i do not care very much about Shields of any type, however, say, High Elves might consider to spend some enchantmet points on proper shield on weapons i mentioned above just in case the opponents are going to use Reflect (Dremora Lords and Golden Saints just love it). Altogether, some other additional equipment may serve even better here.
IMHO the Shock damage is just most effective kind of attack in the game (it paralyzes for a short time and very often knocks down), however, since there are some monsters and NPC partially or completely immune to it, one cannot depend only on it.

@MordorMan. The point was that game was supposed to be english version, which it was, but manual was by mistake, italian.
Most Finns past elementary school understand english, and so games here are sold with that language. Unless there is translation to Finnish.

Stray Dog, I assumed that the game itself is always in English, because it would mean so much trouble translating all the texts in the game and also do all the voices in different languages. I cannot imagine the game itself having been translated in Italian, for example. So my point is: if you can understand all the in-game text, you are certainly able to read the manual in English.

Aah, it is so nice kill in one hit. I find it very hard to avoid, lately I try to do all kills in one hit, which sometimes does not work for golden saints or dremora lords. But the health absorbing Deadric dai-katana used with a backstab (you don't have to hit the back, but I think an approach from the back lessens the chance of discovery) is extremely damaging.

Sometimes I run through a hostile area, striking everyone I meet and let them drop without breaking stride. This can be very satisfying, although crtitical hist are out of the question when you are running.
