it should be noted that i'm not a fan of the beserker and have never run one other than minsc who realy is a ranger.

to best answer your question i would ask you if you plan on running a good or evil party?

if good take axes, if evil take hammers. the reason why is the evil have korgan who has ***** in axes and * in hammers. the good however have many people who can handle hammers, but none for axes.

as far as race: dwarves can get a very nice throwing hammer in trademeet, and horcs fit my vision of a beserker and the extra strenght doesn't hurt with them.

cheers

Dwarven beserker carrying dual flails = party time.

Berzerkers are IMO the most powerful fighter kit in the game. It's amazing how many things enrage makes them immune to and they even get +2/+2 and a +2 AC bonus with it.

The best race for a berzerker would probably be dwarves or half-orcs since they get Con bonuses. The Half-orc STR bonus is less important since there are so many belts and such. Also, berzerker makes a great dual to with Cleric, Mage, or Thief but of course that requires human.

Weapons is tougher. I would suggest 5+ in Flail, 3+ in dual and the rest in Hammers. This gives you the strongest dual wield in the game (FoA/CromF) as well as the throwing hammer if you're a dwarf. Until you get CromF you can use FoA/Defender of Easthaven. However, there are a lot of other good possibilities.

I suggest 3*s in dual wield and 5*s in axe. Have him dual wield the stonefire and frostweaver.
