Crom Faeyr - is it worth it?

I'm presently in the Underdark collecting the various magical weapon componenets. Is it worth it to assemble Crom Faeyr, rather than having those awesome strength modifiers spread around your party? My party: my fighter/mage, Anomen, Valygar, Mazzy, Jaheira, Imoen. With the exception of Imoen, they are a force to behold (possibly too powerful??)

imo crom fayer is less than the sum of it's parts.
i much prefer keldorn w/ frost gian str & carsomyr. & giving the gauntlets to another char.

Depends on the party. In a fighter heavy party like you have it might be better to keep the gauntlets + belt rather than have the one weapon. With fewer fighters Crom Faeyr is worth it.

Crom Faer is probably not worth it with your party.
Mazzy, Valygar, and Jaheira all have below 18 strength. I have always found Jaheira in particular somewhat useless without strength-enhancing items. Sure, there's the 19 strength belt, but all three can have 18/00 or better if you don't make Crom Faer.
Still, if you have someone with the proficiency points in hammer, you might want to try it out. (And reload if you find it's not worth it.) If you don't already have someone proficient in hammer, don't bother.

Well like people said it depends on your party and in your case maybe not but it is still a great weapon and you should wield it atleast once just to behold the destruction. In case you don't know it is actually better than the description.

Read it, it gives 25 of STR, a speed factor of 1, damage of 2d4+3, it also kills stone and clay golems(well trolls and ettins but you are not going to see most of those in the end)golems with one blow and a +5 to THAC0.
It speaks for it self.
Also seeing that you have Anomen, he can get to be master of hammers and seeing that its the only +3 hammer weapon in the game....

I like to have Valygar with the celestrial fury in one hand and crom in the other.
You really only need one fighter after that.

That hammer that you find at nalias castle is a +4 hammer just so you know.

Warhammer +1, +4 vs. Giantkin
There is the Rod of Smiting for golems, though.

i think the crom feayr is great but in your case i shouldn't do it.
give the gridles to your char. and Valygar
the gauntlets to jaheira and buy the mace that give's a str. 18 (i think) by bernard in the coronet and give that to anomen.
U have then a great party bracers of archery to mazzy along with the bow of gesen and u don't even need the crom any more.

I believe its a 5+ hammer. Play soloing ranger/cleric, with removed xp cap and dual wield this with whatever weapon that suits. eg. skullcrusher vs humankinds, mace of disruption+2 vs vampires and so on.
