I know you have total freedom in Morrowind, but whast would you guys advise me to start with? Go to Balmora and follow the storyline or first "gain some XP" and where would I do that?

I have some trouble getting started. I is kinda dull sofar. May be when I get more into the game and get a better character, I would enjoy the game better!

It takes a while of getting used to the game I think. I would advise to talk to people you meet and listen carefully to what they say. You will come across many things you are unfamiliar with, but learning how the world works is one of the fun things in my opinion. At first, you are a nobody, dropped of in a strange land. The process of evolving your character and exploring the land and gaining knowledge is one of the key aspects of the game.

You can walk around a bit around Seyda Neen, there are some quests that you can do right away. Also, there is a den of criminals in the vicinity. You can try to kill them and loot their stuff. I would further advise to take the stilt rider if you want to go to another town. There are many vicious animals lurking in the wilderness between towns.

Don't worry if you don't understand everything at first, it will come. Try to avoid message boards like these in the beginnig, before you know it the game will be spoiled for you because you know something you weren't supposed to know yet.

Have fun!

I'm in your shoes...just a few miles ahead. I would recommend doing some "free lance" work in the Seyda Neen area...there are about 23 locations to examine based on the "Prophecies" book. These should give you some gold, some talent bumps and get your levels and skills up as well. You will find if you go straight to Balmora that your skills will not be good enough to do many of the jobs the Fighters or Thieves guild give you (the first two are pretty easy, then they get harder).

Also, if you are not skilled enough, the Thief contact in Balmora will not give you your job to continue on the Main Quest path so you are forced to free lance, or join a guild and do menial jobs in an effort to build up.
