5th Harry Potter Book

Post by Nightmare »

To any that haven't heard, the 5th book, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix", is due for release June 21st.

The British/Canadian version is 768 pages long  , and I don't know how long the american version will be. Its about a third longer then the the 4th book.

As the HP fan I am, I can't wait. :)

He was quoted to say that mr (enter name of dude who is directing the lord of the rings) "Is making three, three hour movies about three books and I am making 9 two hour movies about one book"

Thats three more..

You want to talk about a monstrosity- I'm on page 326 of a 1350 page book, small type, crammed pages.

Wrong meter, Mr. Jackson is doing a great and immersive work.
I made the mistake of watching Episode I...
The "battle" looked like a brazilian carnival, all coloured and comical.
While the scenes meant to be comical weren't even good for kids, so predictable and abused as they were.
I'll spare me such a suffering again, so it doesn't matter how long they are....

(This is my opinion, at least :o )

Tom Clancy's Executive orders, which is supposedly his best, before the dismal days of The bear and the dragon or Red Rabbit. So far it's very good.

I read H.P 4 in like 4 days, cause I didn't feel inspired enough do really read the book. I did however read a 1200 page book in 24 hours one time, best book I ever read I think......it was Heart of Winter by Robert Jordan......

@Morlock,

Executive Orders was baaaaaaaaaaad. At least when I tried to read it. I made it to about page 250...and decided not to read anymore.

And The Bear and the Dragon was quite good. :p

For me it was the other way around- I love Executive Orders, far more interesting than the shoot 'em up days of Clear and Present Danger or Patriot Games. I couldn't go on reading the Bear and the dragon- I fell asleep everytime I tried to pick it up.
I suggest you give EO another chance- most Clancy books are boring for the first third or so (Except for Rainbow Six- but that doesn't go anywhere). I hated Debt of honor at the start- but once you get through the car thing and hit wallstreet- it really gets interesting.
Although Hunt for Red October is still my favorite.

Hmmm...I prefer the more "shoot 'em up" books by him. My favourite was Red Storm Rising. I'm currently reading The Sum of all Fears, and I still have Red Rabbit to read.

I'll probably give EO another chance, in a few months. I've got about a dozen books to read...
