Hi All!
I can't backstab any of the monsters, enemies I attack with my thief (even if his invisible). Please help me, how to make a succesful backstab attack. Thank you, Na007

First, you must be invisible (Hidden in Shadows, Drink an Invisibility Potion, whatever).
Then you must attack the enemy from behind with a weapon that is suitable for backstabbing (any non-ranged weapon a thief can use).
Note: Several monsters a immune to backstab (i.e. Golems, Dragons, Beholders..)

Some weapons can't be used to backstab, either. Don't try it with a two-hander, for instance--sounds silly, but some people have complained here in the past when that wouldn't work.

I think your weapon also has to be an edged weapon; you cannot backstab with the Blackblood club, for instance.

I learned here that you can back stab with the Staff of the Ram, an oddity that, given that it is not edged in anyway. I am still figuring it out

AFAIK you can backstab with the following weapon classes:
Dagger
Short Sword
Katana
Scimitar
Long Sword
Staff

What's the big problem.
You can backstab with all melee weapons that a thief can use.
So u can use a quaterstaff for backstabbing, as well as a club.
But not with a bow (not melee)
And you're mage/thief can't stab with the staf of magi, cause although he can use it it is only usable by mages, so his thief-part can't backstab with it.
Also UAI doesn't change what items you van use for backstabbing.
Hope this cleared it up!?
