A question on Spell Disruption

How is it that certain wizards and monsters in the game, particularly high level ones, are able to suffer a lot of damage while they're casting spells and they're not disrupted?

Liches are very good at this. While Minsc is hitting (and dealing damage), I see "one of the spells has failed" but it still keeps casting the d@mn spell! Same for Irenicus, and I won't even expand about Firkraag, who's able to cast Heal under 30 cloudkills.

Is there any way to improve spell concentration or something like that? My mages are always behind when a battle goes on, but even a tiny itty bit of damage cancels my spells.

No.
Basicly it goes like this, a mage (or prist, since they both usualy use words and gestures in casting) requires a lot of time to cast a spell since it requires especific gestures and words, since getting hit usualy one scream or makes a incorrect gesture that ends the spellcasting.
Also you can make a sucesefull trow against spellcasting failure (any time a mage get hit it makes a saving trow) and keep casting the spell.
Just keep then in the back.
There is a robe that lowers spellcasting time, the robe of vecna, buy it.

Oh, I didn't know casting failure involved the saving throws too. I'll keep that in mind. I thought maybe it was because I had low constitution or strength.

Thanx Drakron.
