I am playing a paladin at the moment it it annoy me to no end that they cannot get more than 2 slots in proficiency. Aren't they supposed to be knights? And knights are the finest warriors (in armour) so why can't they get at least Mastery.

Also, as a side note, have you ever looked at the stats of Firkrag? he has Grand MAstery in just about everything. sAme as the supposedly wimpy thief Regis (Drizzt's bum chum) he's got crappy Thieving skills yet Grand mastery in about 4 different weapons. He's suppose to be a very good thief and a poor warrior in the books.

use shadow keeper to give your paladin grad mastery in 2 handed swords and 2 handed style, then give him carsomyr... he can kick some serious ass

Fighters are the finest warriors, and this is reflected in their proficiency slots. Paladins are not only warriors, but also healers, do-gooders etc etc, hence lower proficiencies. Image

This is a normal situation in BG2. Every medium-strong enemy is high master or grand master in weapons. Perhaps only mages are only proficient with weapons. Irritating? Edit WeapProf.2da file in your override directory (remove the read-only flag first - the flag is a result of copying froy your CD).

A paladin with 2 on 2 handed swords and 2 handed weapon style kicks @$$ anyway, no need for cheating.

And thats the bottom line, 'cos Stoner Cold said so!
