Help on Haste

Ok, I need a little clarification here - let me see if I have it right.

As I understand it, there are three types of Haste

1) Haste Boots. Double movement speed only

2) Oil of Speed / Haste spell - Double movement, add one attack per round, fatigue after second application

3) Improved Haste - Double movement, double attacks, no fatigue effect

Now, my questions:

a) Does wearing Haste Boots prevent regular or improved haste from taking effect, or do they overwrite? It seems to me like they prevent you receiving any "real" haste, but I may be mistaken.

b) Does regular haste add one attack per weapon for dual wielders or just one attack to main hand? It seems like the latter to me.

Thanks in advance!

A: No haste still has effect
B: One extra attack with the main hand, but i could be mistaken

Actually I believe there is a bug with the boots of speed that disables haste. There is a fix for it on Baldurdash.

Also, though you didn't ask, the ring of free action will mess up your haste spells and possibly the boots.

boots of speed - +1/2 attack for high level fighters

oil of speed - no fatigue

ring of free action/free action items - cannot be hasted/improved hasted, no problem with boots.

ok, here is the fyi....

stacking haste....

haste and improved haste cast on same char will make them move really fast and double attack...

THEN cast free action or wear the ring, and you are hasted and improved hasted and immune to stun, hold, etc....

if you like being hasted and free all the time, after you reload your game, unequipp the ring, unequip and re equip the boots of speed, then equipp the ring...

you are now free and hasted...but casting imp haste without taking off the ring does not work...

arbane's sword and keldy's firkaam armor will make you immune to hold and stun, but will not make you immune to haste or improved haste as per the spell or ring...

does that make sense???

Yay!

Yeah, that makes sense to me. I'll try it out ASAP: super-duper haste plus free action - Woo hoo!

Thanks for the clarification.

Haste, both from the potion and the spell, will not always give you an extra attack, it will simply round up to the next integer. So if you got 2 attacks it will go up to 3 attacks when hasted, if you got 5/2 attacks, it will still only go up to 3 attacks when hasted, if you got 3 attacks, it will go up to 4 attacks however.
