Lawful Good should get XP for saying no!

Hey, has anyone ever gitten experience for saying no to an evil type quest? Like with Xzar and the Harpers...it would appear like a bad choice for a paladin, so I should be in character, say get lost, and get big XP!!!!!!!!! But it doesn't work that way, which hurts the realism in the game (as far as realism can go in a fiction game, he he!). Or helping Korgan, who I KNOW my Paladin can sense is pure evil...I helped him, but it wouldn't be that way for real, and I should have gotten XP for saying no, or killing him on the spot! Any thoughts?

HA! Right on! Have you noticed that a Paladin can kill a neutral character just to get his stuff and not take a reputation hit, let alone drop to "fallen" status?
I did come up with a decent strategy, though...if you're not sure, and you don't want to waste time (and lose the initiative) detecting evil, cast Holy Smite somewhere nearby. It only affects evil characters, so no harm is done if the character is good, and you get first strike if he's evil.

Actually I think it should be that you get punished for doing something evil when you're good, but get nothing for saying no.
After all, if you killed someone, you'd be punished, but if someone asked you to kill someone and you said no, you wouldn't be rewarded, it's expected of you.
Same should go for BG2. If you're evil and start doing good things you should be punished, be good and do evil things and get punished.
It's a shame this doesn't happen.
Oh, and trust me, you don't want to turn down Xzars quest

Play the quest, the Harpers in there are "diferent" and you end up "helping" the greater good.

If you need to you can justify doing almost anything in the game by saying it is "a means to an end" to destroy the greater evil of Bohdi/Irenicus.

Getting exp for not doing anything? Can't see how that would make sense...
True that BGII lets you get away with too much. I mean, how can those lawful good characters get away with using poison? (I'm thinking of arrows/bolts of biting and darts of wounding...there seems to be no restriction on who can use those poisons.)

Some things are only available if you're a neutral person.I find it hard to role-play a lawful good paladin

true, i played a aladin last time, and got to reputation 20 well, it's easy for everybody, isn't it. and no body know my dark side, -- i stole everything i found useful wherever possible, turn up with plat mail *1 in beginning of CH2 and -AC already there, and a lot of scrolls which i couldn't carry all, and almost unlimited potions. i was so gutted when i found out i couldn't steal from the bonus store and adventurer's mart.
haha, actually i think i am chaotic good, but i just like play with paladin
