Graphics freezing, help!

I recently installed BG and ToSC, but now playing is impossible because all action is happening in very slow motion. Everything just moves jerkingly and movement takes aeons. I got from Interplay FAQ answer about screenshot being enabled, and tried that. Nothing. How do you make it so that this does not happen.
I did what IP´s faq told, but it did not help. All movement happens like its taking screenshots, but no screenshot file is to be found, until I press printscreen key.

You'll have to give more information on your system specs before anyone can really identify a problem. OS? DirectX version? Graphics card? System specs like CPU/RAM? Did you apply all the latest OS and game patches? What exactly have you tried so far>

I had sort of the same problem with my ol CD-ROM drive, the CD kept spinning in the drive,
a full-install solved the problem, you coudl try that.

Have you tried the usual things, like patching an reinstalling?

DirectX 8.1, 256 AMD, 1,7ghz. GeForce4. Yes, I have all latest patches. I tried pressing print screen, like ordered in faq, and ending the game and deleting the screenshot file. It helped nothing.

is there any special graphics mode or something enabled? I know that I had some nasty glitches in one area of the game, so I enabled one of the modes to fix it, but it slowed the game down ridiculously.

Perhaps check to make sure you have the latest video drivers for your video card (some cards have issues...), then disable as many special effects as you can in the BG options...

Thanks for the help. I have found way to get by this. Doing what IP says, and restarting the comp takes the problem away, and sometimes just quitting the play, deleting the screenshot file, and doing something else (with comp) for awhile takes it away.
