skill-boosting feats

do skill-boosting feats (discipline) count as skill points for the purpose of feat pre-requestees, or just give bonuses for checks?

i.e. does a fighter with a discipline feat (+2 to concentration) need to invest 4 points in concentration, or just 2, in order to get maximized attacks?

Nope, he needs 4. You see, the points you put in skills when you level are Ranks, while the feat grants a Bonus. If maximized attacks requires 4 ranks, the disciplined feat won't help.

now gimme my prize ;)

Weird, my sorcerer has only 4 in spellcraft, but he can take the feats that require 10 in spellcraft (+5 [Elemental] resistance +20%[Elemental] damage)

But my rogue has a alchemy of (9)5 but he can't take the envenom weapon feat

How about this?
The feat does not require you meet the pre requisite to use the feat as long as you are capabale of aquiring the feat.

So.... My druid chose wild shape Shamblingmound before I could actually turn into that monster (I may have chosen it below 8th level, or maybe didn't have the other neccessary skills yet.) - or that was a bug.

The Wizard example from Stilgar supports this. He may have chosen the feat, but he probably isn't getting the benefit. You could tell by putting your sorecerer in the way of one of those forms of attack and see if there is damage resistance on the feedback screen. .. save first.

Weird.
I'll have to check that out when I get home.

What level is your wizard and why so few spelcraft ranks?

He's a sorcerer, and he's the leader, and I wanted a good dex to for using bows, so he has low intelligence (12) so I punt everything on diplomace concentration and bluff.
Spellcraft isn't that important for a sorcerer if i'm not mistaken

Very odd.
Maybe the feat is applicable to your sorcerer for reasons other than those described in the game data.

"Important Attribute(s): Charisma, Dexterity, Constitution" for sorcerer

Looks like a look into the Player Handbook is in order.
