About the harper quests and Jaheira romance

How should I get the Harper quests to start? I've done the Jaheira poisoning quest and given her the necklace from the merchant back in the 2nd chapter of the game. Now I'm in 7th chapter, and just did Xzar-quest a few days (game time) ago. If I've understood correctly, the Harper quests are important for Jaheira romance, and Xzar's quest will trigger them. How should I get them to start? Should I be contacted by the Harpers after some days, or is there some specific place I should go to?

I really dont know, but I think that is best to have the Bandids attack (outside citys, take her place) before doing that, but I dont think that matters.

Romance with Jaheira only happens in Chapters 2, 3 and 6. After a certain number of days you have to sleep outside, and then you'll awake to some bandits, and the romance moves on from there......

After some time Jaheira will be called back to the harper base, it will move one from there. I don't think the bandits have anything to do with the harpers since when I met them I was already way into the harper quest.

After some time? From Xzar-quest? In game time or real time? And how long, approximately, will it take?

Well, for me it was about 40 days(game time) since I went to chapter 4 (where the romance doesn't advance) pretty early in the game. I suppose it will happen sooner if you stay in chapt. 3 a bit longer, but don't really know how soon exactly.

Am I the only one who got romance dialogues from Jaheira in ch. 4 (Brynnlaw) and 5 (Ust Natha)???
@Zaha I don't know what it means to be doing the romance so late in the game but there are at least 2 timers in play, a game-time (triggers Harper quest encounters) and a real-time (triggers romance dialogues.) With J it is important not to let the dialogues get too far ahead of the bandit/harper encounters and vice versa. You can always leave the game running but paused to make sure you are caught up with the dialogues. See lots of old threads on how to make sure the two "timers" advance fairly evenly.

IIRC,It doesn't matter wether Jaheira's wearing the necklace or not.Don't worry though,your bound to get one of those Jaheira bugs

Jaheira gets recalled to the Harper base for the first time just after the bandits attack.
I'd forgotten the Xzar quest kicked it off though.

You get that amulet from that fat merchant near the oghma temple in the docks district, Jaheria has to be near you when you talk to him.

So did I get it right..?
Some days after finishing Xzar's quest, you'll have to rest in a forest (any forest?), where you'll get attacked by bandits, and that attack will start the Harper quests?

Umar hills is a nice place to sleep and it will trigger bandits when you go there (if it's not one of them charming Jaheira bugs)

I slept some 40 days (should be enough
in planar sphere, then went to sleep in Umar Hills. Nothing happened, I slept in peace for 8 hours. Though I noticed that if went straight from the slums district to temple ruins, i got waylaid by a group of five or six bandits, but i guess that these aren't the bandits that are supposed to trigger the harper quests. At least I wasn't contacted by a harper after that fight...

I don't believe the bandits (who can appear in any outside place, I think (I met them in the druid grove)are necessary for the Harper plot. This encounter is important for the Jaheira Romance though !
So I guess you'll have to be patient and rest in the open...eventually they will show up, don't worry.
Jaheira doubts a lot and it takes her a lot of time, but eventually I find it the most rewarding romance of them all...;-)

Yes, the bandit attack IS necessary to advance both the Harper plot and the romance, and there is a bug that causes it to not appear in some games.
...but there's also an easy fix. Using SK, add the following Global Variable:
JAHEIRABANDITPLOT=1
Then go sleep outside somewhere. You should get woken up by the bandits, and it will jump start the rest of the Harper plot.

I'm on day 19 (Chapter 3), and just slept on the bridge of Nalia's keep and the bandits appeared. I think I read someplace that you need to sleep outside AFTER the Cult of the Unseeing Eye quest. Can't say for sure....

One more Stupid Question(TM):
What is SK and where can i get it?
