i saw on this site that is possible to loot some boots of speed from renal body but i dont know how to kill him
anyone can help me?

I know, Arkanis always showed up by me and killed my party...

I believe the only way it is possible is to join Bodhi's side in Chapter 2 or 3.

That's right, this is one of the game's "
Defenses" against people who kills everything on their sight, if you killed renal bloodscap, and killed bodhi, then you won't have a story to go on, so BGII spawns this unbeatable guy and stops you

but when a joined the vampires renal bloodscalp had disapeared into the second floor of the guild

Same thing hapened to me. I sided with Bodhi and she gave me the task to destroy the shadow thiefs. I went to their guildhouse but Bloodscalp was not there and I never met him again.

I suppose Bloodscalp is only necessary to give the mae'var quest - if you're with Bohdi you don't get it.

I did the Mae'var quest before I joined Bodhi but never got to fight Renal. Is it part of the thief stronghold quest? I never played that one.

Here's a tip, summon as many things as possible (I.E fill that floor up) using the simacrulum bug with a wand of monster summoning and staff of elemental summoning.)

Then, only kill Renal, let the Assasins hack through a s@#tload of those suckers and be back in the Graveyard to sign up with Bodhi ASAP.

Who is Arkanas or whatever anyway? Someone in the PnP?

@Giles: Arkanis is one of the shadow thiefs. I think he is there to prevent you from screwing up your game by killing Renal to early. You actually get to kill him(Arkanis) later if you side with Bodhi.

i know this but when you can kill arkanis Renal Bloodscalp disapear from the 2º floor of shadow thieves guild

anyone have found a clue?

Results of my "gazing on game loads" session:
I tried to get the boots regularly (all irregular ways are equivalent to CLUAConsole-creating the boots).
1. Bloodscalp cannot be attacked directly, this always invokes Arkanis Gath (AG for short).
2. Summoning a demon (oh no, that isn't me who is murdering here...) invokes AG as well.
3. Invisibility + Non-Detection improves nothing - AG sees invisible and detects non-detectable.
4. Sacrifying the final reward from Bloodscalp (i.e., doing the Mae'Var's Quest to the point after clearing the guild and then going to Bodhi - not to Renal - with a
hidden hope that the quest isn't over and Renal may be in the guild) does not work. The guild is reloaded as usual and Renal is gone.
5. Blade Barrier + Sanctuary does not work as well - AG is invoked.
6. Trying to run does not pass - AG is faster, moreover, AG has a ranged attack as well. I noticed that AG is always created near your protagonist so that your protagonist gets killed and the game ends.
7. Leave your party near exit from the building and send simulacrum to summon a demon (you can go to Renal with a single character) does not help - AG is invoked near the exit of the building.
Let us summarize: It is very nice that Renal Bloodscalp has the Boots of Speed but this knowledge seems to be completely worthless.

Then, if there is no way to kill him why he have so many stuff, i managed to kill him by clicking on all thieves to speak and when they where lookin at me i killed bloodscalp
he have so many stuff, short sword of backstabing , boots of speed, shadow armor
there's must be some way to kill him without AG coming for you

Two single questions:
1) if it is said what loot is on Bloodscalp fellow, how is it discovered? Extracting from bif's?
2)has anybody tried stealing?

1. Pickpocketing does not work: you obtain 2 nonmagical rings, 2 Poitons of Extra Healing and 1 Oil of Speed but no Boots of Speed, etc. Note: as far as pickpocketing is concerned, 135 for pick pockets is unsufficient, 175 is dangerous and 215 isn't enough. Well, Renal is a master thief. If you fail pickpocketing, AG is invoked.
2. Somebody published here that Renal Bloodscalp has Boots of Speed. I tried to get them immediately because I like to play a "trio" - having Boots of Speed for all my guys is extremely attractive idea for me.

I have some ideas to kill Bloodscalp but I havent had the time to test em yet.
1. Summon pit fiend or something and then kick your mage straight away out of the group ( pick it up later again) Then the thieves maybe won't get angry.
2.Summon Djinni or an Efreeti, put it next to Bloodscalp and then attack your Djinni so he will turn against you ( and maybe the Shadow thieves) Maybe that AG won't appear by then.
3.First go to Underdark and try it again when yur back: maybe AG wont appear then, because you cant screw up the game anymore.
4. Use that mage spell ( teleport field?) which moves a person to somewhere else on the map on Bloodscalp. Then search him again and kill it, then maybe AG won't appear
(never used that spell so Im raelly not sure about this one)

PS: Somebody ever killed that AG?

Anyone tried to backstab him..if you get a crit hit and he dies in one hit will AG show up then?

Yeah he will show because the other shadow thives will turn hostile, only if u can kill everyone on the floor with 1 hit

So, can anyone tell me why there is saying that u can loot from renal if you cant do it by the game rules??
