Help! I can't seem to find this anywhere, but I need a reality check:

melees - start with 4 stars, plus one proficency/3 levels
rogues - 3 plus 1/4 levels
priests - 2 plus 1/5 levels
mages - 1 plus 1/6 levels

Is this right, or am I confused?

Close but you are confused. Here is the correct table:


Warrior 4 + 1/3
Rogue 2 + 1/4
Priest 2 + 1/4
Wizard 1 + 1/6

Also, remember that although warriors start with 4 proficiencies, they cannot place more than 2 per slot at first level. This is not enforced in BG2, but adding more than four stars at 7th level is technically illegal.
