Party leader...

Is there a way to make the party leader not the first person in the formation? I'd like to use my Sorcerer for my leader since he has the high CHR and skills, but I can't have him be first in formation.

Just change the formation before dialogue

That, AFAIK, is your only option.

There are formaions where the leader is in the back. they are accessed by right-clicking on the formation buttons, IIRC.

I hadn't tried all the formations so I'll see if I can find one with the leader in the back.
update- I tried all the formations and couldn't find any with the leader in the back. I guess I might just use my paladin and lose out on the money rewards since he is such a lawful good guy.

i'm not sure why this is a problem for you.
it's really not so bad to have the 98 lb weakling in the front. if it really freaks you out use some mirror image, it also helps to have a missle weapon equipped, so you won't charge everything in melee.
i've had sorc's, bards, weakling clerics, rogues, you name it in the front slot and it's never been much of a problem.
(not you can also rotate formations - but a lot of dialogue takes place w/ the closest pc, not always the leader...

you can also choose (in some events) who will talk, and the one who will talk could be a simple char, not a leader, although it's hard work to choose every time who will talk (and i have the same problem as you have, and i didn't solve it, i just gave my cleric or my fighter the leadership...)

I also have a sorc that I prefer to do everything, just make sure he's the one who talks, if at all possible.

Why have they removed some of the formations?
I remember a formation where you're leader whas in the middle,
and in the back of a triangle.
I used the latest most of the time.

Probably because people comlained that your leader was never the one who was talked to when dialogue came along, so they decided to switch it around. Your char with high charisma and skills in the back, would help nothing when your brutish fighter is up front trying to persuade somebody with his charisma of 8 or less.
