I am SURE this is not original but does anyone else think it would be cool if we could have more than 6 party members?
8 would be good.
If you could have 8 who would your party be then?

I think 5 party members should be enough.Anyway, people are most like more interested in finishing the game with less NPCs than with more of them(Look at how many posts there are about soloing the game

)

No, I'm not interested in more party members per se...but some involved battles (defending your stronghold) where you get to control a few archers and other men-at-arms might be fun.
In fact, I think it would be good if they made it really hard to bring back dead characters. Just like in movies - the hero attracts the help of various characters to aid in his/her quest, then one by one they fall until the final showdown...

I hope they improve on some of the 'weaker' stronghold plots(ie

aladin Stronghold,Fighter Stronghold).

Well, we appear to have two votes against it.
I still like the idea though. It would allow me to mix a greater variety of classes into the same group. I really like that idea.

well, in the beginning of the game, i just wish i have more NPC, but in the late stage, i wish i only have 4, but neverless, 6 is ok, cos u'll get more experience with less npc, someone soloing could get lvl as high as 30 to 40, i heard ppl got to 50 once, but in terms of friendship, i wish to have 8 NPCs, i wish to have Keldorn in my party as well, with Nalia, a 3rd mage and a 3rd tank is very useful. in teh late stage, i had 3 absoultely hard tanks, me, minsc, and anomwn and 2 good mages, well jaheira just for healing actually, she became less useful toward the end, but never mind. and couldn't find enough enemy to kill...

The good thing about allowing 8 person parties is that people that want to solo, can still solo. People that want a 6 person party can still have a 6 person party etc.
AND the weirdos like me that don't care how much exp we get etc can have the big 8 person party

They should also make it impossible to recruit evil characters if you're a good party

Jaheira less useful towards the end? What game are you playing? She's the most useful NPC you can get IMO. She fights as well as Minsc, has spells to summon allies to her side, and has stoneskin. Give her decent armor and a shield and her AC easily drops to -10. Also boost her str with a girdle.

Interesting note -- I tried to start a multi-player game with an evil main character and a paladin in the party. The game crashed on load every time. I made the Paladin the main character and it loaded just fine.
Minsc and Imoen will join since they've been with you a long time, but I never tried to recruit a Lawful Good NPC into an evil party.

It's nice to keep with tradition even though the possibility of 8 perty members would be fun. Like already mentioned it'd be good for diversity in the party but it would also kinda make things too easy...
it's kinda like how they reduced the # of monsters you could control to five instead of as many as you could summon - it makes things to easy like fighting with an army not a group

beacuse jaheria is mult-class, in the late stage of the game most of my characters are over lvl 20, or even 23, Thac0 are -7, and she can't use staff of magi, which made Imoen a lot harder, staff of woodland came to late. while jaheria's lvl only stays at 14 as druid and 14 as fighter as well i think. too low. next time, i'll get nalia instead of her. anomen's level is 23, which can use a lot of powerful lvl 7 prist magic, and jaheria can't, do you see the point now?
