Okay, I've just bought Fallout 2 because I heard it was an roleplaying Classic and because of that I always wanted to start playing it.

I choose my char (didn't remember it, changed it to my own but it was the middle) and went into the temple.

Now I got killed by scorpions and ants so please help me because I'm thinking it's cause of the gameplay.
I'm used to BG and to Icewind Dale so I think I could get some help.

Just as in BG(especially BG1) you need to start with caution.

Use the fact that combat is turn based to make the critter come after you. If you have decent agility you can do hit and run tactics where each time it is the critters turn - you can make it use all its action points on crawling to you (as far as I remember, long time ago though, the critter can move 3-4 AP).
Also remember to use healing bags if you get in trouble.

The spear is proberly the best weapon you can use inside the Temple of Trials unless you are a martial arts specialist, due to it have a little longer range in meele then the knife.

Peronally, I didn't use the spear (unless I had 10 agility) since you can't use the hit and run tactic to it's full extent. (4-5 ap per thrust?)

Yeah, made the temple and some people taught me some handy things in the village. I'm having trouble getting used to the way of travelling on the map, but it'll work out.

Just got into (town with a K...) 5 minutes ago and have just found a rifle.

lol.... I don't think I actually ever used the pipe rifle.. I think i just kept it... I had a thing with fallout2 where after i took out the raiders i'd use that as like my base, I would collect 1 of each weapon to keep, and of course all the ammo i could get.. and keep them at the raiders base... ahh those were the times.. having plasma rifles but walking around with the jackhammer shotgun and the 14mm pistol... ahh I miss fallout2.

hmmm, the raider base eh? I just put it in my car boot like all my other stuff. I didn't have every weapon, since I ran out of space and had to dump a lot of close combat weapons and ammo, but I've still got every ranged weapon along with ammo. the raider base is a good idea though, cheers. :)

well that was just the thing.. the car "boot" or trunk as we say was too small to hold all of the weapons... i just put all the **** i was going to sell in the trunk.. but i wasn't going to mention that in case the newbe came back and read this, then finding out that you get a car.. sorry newbe.. slipped out.
