Trying to get the star sapphire in Layenne's tomb. I somehow managed to toast a pedestal for the gem of pain. Anyway of getting it back?

Loading a previous save as far as I can tell, I don't think it can be done...

I found the pedestal and the gem..but actioning the "use pedestal" does not give me an option to use the gem. And I know its the right gem because it details the "place on Helm's pedestel". I'd like the XP, but I've already cleared the keep. Any advise?

LMAO.... I did exactly the same thing as you....one neet littel firball and all of them were blown into peices...oooooops 
and I didn't have a save before it oh well it wasn't the end of the world and I still finished the game with that sorc
