Some basic questions for the Greenhorn

)I just lost the manual, but I have the legal version no probs there.
So I wanted to ask some questions.
The first one being if there is a downloadable manual somewhere onthe net.
Secondly, because of this loss, I don't know anything about for example: Spellcasting while wearing armor, or stealth.
I don't know anything about the classes, which one works for a begining char. I wanted to try a fullblown fighter, but in my exp. those aren't very cool to play (everybody wants to cast spells or backstab don't they

)
When I created my char. with the questions, I became a monk, a class that (at least in BG) is a very hard class.
So give me some pointers please, I don't like starting a new game undocumented.
One thing is for certain, I WANT MY MANUAL BACK!!!

Spellcasting is not affected by the type of armor you wear. You can cast just as well in heavy armor as you can in light armor.
I believe that the heavier armors do somewhat impact your Sneak ability, but I don't think it is a huge negative.
If you are trying the game out for the first time, I would play some kind of fighter or fighter/thief, at least for a while until you get a better sense of how the game works. Spellcasters can be hard to play (especially if you want to roleplay) if you don't have experience at it.
Other Assorted Tips:
Be very careful when you select your Birthsign. Some are great, and some are total garbage, even if they don't look that way at first.
If you steal an item from a merchant - say a silver dagger - that means you can no longer sell ANY silver daggers to that merchant, even if you found/stole another one somewhere else since that type of item is now flagged as "stolen" for him/her in the game. It doesn't make sense, but that is how it works in the game. I recommend leaving one town where you don't steal anything from merchants. Balmora is the one I usually choose.
Don't randomly kill people. Lots of people who seem otherwise unimportant are actually part of the many assorted quests in the game. Killing someone could block you from getting a nice reward later on down the road.

Is there a reason why i wouldn't want to choose to wear heavy armor?
What are the advantages for ligh/medium armor compared to heavy?

Hm, let me add some questions of my own:
-What is the yellow bar that appears over my own bars when engaged in a fight ... I've got the feeling that it is my opponent's health, yes?
-What is this with fatigue? Aren't you supposed to pass out when it is at 0? I'm no 100% sure, but I normally run all the time and I'm don't pass out even when the bar is all empty ... strange?
-Blocking: Is there anything else that I have to do to block besides carrying around a shield?
-Enchant: Erm, how does this work?

I'll answer the questions to the best of my knowledge

From what I can tell you move a little slower in heavy armor as well as reduced carrying capacity die to its extra weight.
Mysteria Hm, let me add some questions of my own:

1) correct
2) if you are in a fight and it drops to 0 then yes you do pass out.
3) no, though the positioning of your character with respect to your opponent(s) may have something to do with it as well.
4) Enchant is the ability to make your own enchanted items and being able to recharge them using filled soul gems. (as opposed to paying to have it done). it also affects how efficiently you use magic items (i.e. an amulet that uses 15 pts of it's charge w/an enchantment (your ability) of 15, will only use 1 pt. w/a enchantment of 50) not exact figures but just to give you an idea. Note that it is difficult to create powerful magic items yourself, even if your enchantment is 100 (Userunfriendly can give you some cheese methods around this

)

Although it may be considered a "spoiler", The Morrowind Prophesies, tells you everything you wanted to know but were afraid to ask.
