Some help please!

I am having some trouble killing xwim. He seems to be immune against all my damage. How to I kill him?
<EDIT for language. C'mon, was that necessary?>

When you perform the ilmater ritual in the cleric tower. The God xvim appears, and you have to fight him. I just manage to hurt him a little bit. How do i kill him?.

I actually got my 15th level mage to cast distintegrate on him.... I thought it was a long shot but it worked! His items didn't disappear either as is sometimes the case.
(I did have to try it 3 times though as it doesn't always work every time)
