sad sad sad
I think I'm almost done with Baldur's gate now. I've got to the part where I have to go through the underneath parts of Candlekeep.
And I've killed loads of people like Hull, and Winthrop, and all those. Or have I ? I'm not sure whether I've killed them, or whether they're Dopplegangers. Because I met "Elminster" and "Gorian" , they went on about how it's just an illusion that Sarevok has put upon me, and I've killed innocent people. However, they turned into Dopplegangers too, and I dont know whether thats part of the illusion or whether they really were dopplegangers!
Have I killed Elminster and Gorian?
Funny though ... I didn't believe them about how Gorian wasn't really dead ...

They are just Doppelgangers, I don't know if you have played the expansion, but they are pulling a Durlag on you.
They are just playing with you, and Gorion is realy dead and you have to chop your way through candlekeep.
I really liked the part where i got to kill the old lady with the book.

When you have done the Iron Throne, you get a letter. Don't forget to do first the Flaming Fist. There is also a surprise. And the two murders in sewers are also import. And than you can go to the palace.
And have you allready played the expansion Tales of the Swordcoast? That can you do best after the Palace.
And it was a pleasure to make you happy!

Ive already finished off those nasty slimey-named dudes in the sewers. they were nasty! Slythe and something wasnt it ?
woo woo woo
Thing is, I've already completed shadows of Amn, so playing Baldurs Gate I at level 7 is really depressing
I cant seem to kill those wizards in the iron throne, even tho I cant progress anymore and Its on the easiest level
Ive tried lots of tactics too.
Oh well. Ahh forget it, Im happy!
After Ive done tales of the sword coast ( woo woo woo ) Im going to get throne of bhaal for BG II or possibly Ice Wind Dale II
decisions decisions ...

Try casting Emotion, it worked wonders with me, and a couple of fire balls and enough archers and magic missiles to disrupt spellcasting.

I usually just buff up for that fight... haste, protection from evil, strength potions, heroism potions, holy might (if you have it) and then just take them on and usually win in my first or second try on regular difficulty. Put a melee fighter up against that guy with the bow (cos hes deadly if you dont shut him down) and then just swarm the others 1 by 1. Use magic missiles on them to take out their mirror images and you should be fine.

SPOILER!!!!
It's just hard to give a good tactic for that fight. So SPOILER!!!
The last time my mages were quite a high level. (I could cast cloudkill, which I didn't cause that would be wrong)
But let me tell you what I did.
First I cast emotion, in the room, wich disabled the rogue, with my other mage I cast a fireball, then I myself (cleric) cast silence (I had cast all my protective spells like protection from evil and natural balance, which work realy good).
My tank (Minsc with the shield +4 vs Missiles and Varscona and the best armor there is) kept the fighters away from my mages.
Imoen and Kivan kept firing arrows of dispelling and after that arrows of biting at the spellcasting monkeys.
Xzar and Dynaheir first fired all their magic missiles at the archer. (Xzar being fully protected) and this, at this level, would kill almost anyone. (remember the ring of wizardry)
Me being a cleric I first fired a couple of miscast magic spells, the second one took hold of a spellcaster. So this gave me Kivan, as he didn't need to fire at that mage anymore, to kill off the fighter troubling Minsc. Once the fighter fell, Minsc made short order of the rest of the troop.
Owh and please remember to cast haste on your party before going up, it's the best spell in the game.
