Drizzt questions

What if I only heard of Drizzt's good magic stuff LONG after I dealt with him. Is there another encounter with Drizzt? I sure would like those nice scimitars and armor. DO I really have to start over?
I would like a solution that doesn't involve cheating, but I'll settle for a cheat. I tried the Cheat

rizztAttacks(); code, also the defends one, but neither of them seem to load his items in. they just make him appear. I can easily kill him now by summoning lots of monsters and just swarming him.
Any tips would be welcome.

This is the only encounter in BG1. If you are prepared to cheat, rather than summon Drizzt, you could just CLUA his items in. I don't have the codes, but plenty here do. He carries a Defender +5 scimitar and a Frostbrand +3. Each time I have pick pocketed him, though, I have only ever got the Frostbrand. BTW, if you kill him I don't think you would get his blades anyway.

You can also use Gate Keeper to obtain the items

(including his mithrail chainmail should you feel so inclined

)

That´s true, you can only pickpocket the frostband from him

False, if you kill him you get his 2 scemitars and his armor.

personally, I think killing or even pick pocketing Drizzt is a very lame, and unless you are an evil aligned character doesn't make much sense either.

Ok
@Eriks, it might be lame, but if you are playing a druid, his blade is very valuable as it is the most decent scimitar in BG

But there is also a very good scemitar in Durlag's Tower (IIRC), that's just as good as the one you can pickpocket from drizzt

IIRC the one in Durlag's tower is a +2. So if you think pick pocketing Drizzt is lame, then this is the second best scimitar
Checked. The scimitar in Durlags tower is a +2. Damage = 1D8+2. Frostbrand is a +3 scimitar (1D8 +3) with +3 THAC0. The scimitar +2 has a speed factor 3, whilst Frostbrand has a speed factor 2.

Sorry my mistake.

I was never able to get his items by killing him, pissed me off when i came in contact with him and found out he can use a weapon in his off hand... but i was satisfied when BG2 came out heh.... but there are better weapons in BG2 than his anyway... if you use the GateKeeper program (I believe thats what it was called) you can get this flamming sword thats pretty cool, I had my mage using it.. because there are no class/level/race restirctions on it, and you can only get it by using GateKeeper, it's not in the game other wise... I used to love it.. it always chunks people up when you kill them.

Are you talking about BG1 or 2 because I believe in both games there is a flaming sword in both games IIRC, in BG1 it's in Durlag's Tower....
And as you can't make your mage proficient in long swords, well I'd rather give good swords to good char's.

yes both bg1 and 2 had the flaming sword.. problem in BG2 is that when you got it by using the editor, it was just an item in your invintory that you couldn't remove, hence you couldn't equip it.... also.. using it with my mage in BG1 didn't matter, it was almost like he was profficiant with it.. kinda odd.. or it might have been because that was the game i had played after i already beat BG.... so i felt free to use any and all cheats that i could.. hence, making my mage a level 20, knowing all the spells.. all stats at 25 and so forth.. and having the flamming sword was cool because I'm into that whole.. zoning out or whatever, and i could pretend it was like a special/personal weapon.. okay.. so i'm really strange and probably shouldn't let my imagination play such a part when i play RPGs.. God help me! lol
