Official Forum Bug Thread

As many of you already know, I have contracted another company to program our in-house
subscription service. This project has made several major overhauls to the code that the GameBanshee forum uses. Therefore, there are no doubt some issues that need to be fixed now that the subscription service is live.
Please use this thread to post any odd changes or errors that you have encountered in the past month or so. Try to be as thorough as possible to make sure the issue can be easily identified and resolved. Once we compile a list, I will forward all bugs to the leader of the group working on the project. Thanks!

Today, I noticed when I was logged in, every time I clicked on a member's profile, I got my own. When I tried to log out, my name stayde lit up on the board, even though I was logged out. I still could not look at any other member's info.......I kept getting mine. I went to explorer, and cleared all cookies, and it solved the problem, untill I logged back in. Once I was logged back in, I could not access any other members profile page.
Also, when I tried to send a PM, it was sent to my box instead.
The option buttons on the pages are not always loading.......I have to refresh several times to get a complete load.

Hmm, not sure if you want aesthetic issues Buck, but I'll add them anyway.
Under the "Register" option of Gamebanshee, the fonts are irregular and the first two paragraphs lack full stops.
Under the "Subscription" button, there is a few grammar issues.
Otherwise, I get the non-complete loading issue, and occasionally get the confused profile issue. For some reason, its tempermental...

Also, under the "Calendar" function, the date is displayed as "May 2004", even when I edit the year and month to be "May 2003".
Not strictly what you wanted, but I figure you'd want to know about it.
Update: Nor will it allow you to change the date at all...

Hmmm......Now I am having to log back in when I jump back and forth from the game pages for BGl and BGII, and the forums pages.....
Also I am getting pop-ups when I go from one area (Games and News)...to another...(SYM)

The forum pages doens't load completelyt.
It loads to about the SYM forum link, sometimes shows some html code where it stops loading.
I've had this bug also sometimes when entering a forum, it doens't load proberly, but it is always right again after 2-3 refresh'
It happens on Win2K SP 3 with IE 6 and have happend with the IE 5.
It looks like the page is sent to the browserclient before its code is fully generated on the server. But that is my only suggestion to this bug.

None of the features using the userID seem to work. That includes profiles, PM's, finding more posts by user, and adding to buddy list.
And I'm also getting the issiue with the forum index not showing completely. Here's a screenshot:

Just to note.
I had been experiencing the difficulty of PMing people from my buddy list. As other have mentioned, the note went to my own account and I had to type the person's name in maually. I also ended up viewing my own profile when clicking on another's name.
However, this morning I no longer have these problems, so thanks to Buck and those responsible

I am still getting the same thing. The main forum index page is often messed up in some way when I first log on in the mornings, then it is only occasionally messed up when I log back-in later in the day. Sometimes the column widths are messed up, but often the page just stops at about SYM (see screen shot). I'm running Win 98 and IE 6.0.2800.1106. The problem always clears up if I reload. This has been happening for about 2 to 3 weeks now, since Buck first put up the Subscribe button.

Hmmm... can you try again? I tried altering some of the code to make sure it's remembering your login from site to site.

Hmmm..when I navigate from one game area to another, I get a sign in screen each time. When I log in again, I get a 'welcome back Scayde' message, but the page content displays page not found. I can logg out and log back in on each game site to correct this.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for looking into it

Here is a link to the BGII page taken while I was already logged in from the home page.Could it have anything to do with multiple windows open at the same time ?

I tried the same thing.
I logged in at the main page, all went fine.
I went to the NwN section and it displayed a log-in box as if I wasn't logging in.
When trying to log in there I get a "Welcome Back" notice on the menu side, and a
page not found
Sorry, but the file you are trying to access was not found, please let us know what page you were trying to access when this error occured.
Thanks,
The GameBanshee Staff

Sorry about that, you shouldn't get the 404 Page Not Found error anymore. I'll forward the problem with having to login again on separate sites to the team working on the subscription service. Thanks for the feedback!
