Multiplayer

Boy, there's a lot of interest in this forum ;) Anywyas, I bought the game several days ago in a value kind of deal. I've just escaped the Society of Leopold and am on my way to finishing the game pretty soon. What I'm curious about is multiplayer. I made an account and logged in, but have a few questions.

1) I have version 1.1 automatically (when I install the game, it's already patched). I can save anywhere and everything that came with the patch seems to work, but when I log on to WoN, I get a message in the chat room that my version is out of date and I need 1.1. As such, I can't join games (I can create them... only no-one else can join). Anyone had this happen?

2) Is the World of Darkness mod (I read about it sometime ago) still in development or was it just abandonned? It would be a shame because they planned to make the separate "modules" combined into one huge WoD mod, and I would really love to see that.

3) Are there any good multiplayer games (good meaning a lot of storytelling, interesting plot etc) or is it all just deathmatches basically? I have no intention whatsoever running around and killing other people without a point. Perhaps someone here hosts interesting, ROLE PLAYING sessions and is good both at the story and mechanics side?

I'll probably be answered by one or two people (if any), but what the hell, it's worth a shot ;)

1) Try downloading, and installing the patch manually. There is probably something missing that is required for Multiplayer.

2) I believe that the WoD mod was abandoned, but bits of it do exist for download.

3) It's pretty much a death match, unless you know the people you're playing with.

Can't find the patch (not on the Activision page), but I haven't really looked anywhere else, so I'll give that a shot. The main question, however, is: do you still play the game from time to time and host games/know people who make for interesting role playing instead of hacking and slashing?

I, honestly, sold my game off about two years ago. Once the initial thought of being able to be a vampire went away, I found the game a bit boring, and too linear to really replay it.

My thoughts exactly. Unless there is reason to solo (more experience), I probably will not play single player again. But that's where multiplayer comes in. If only it weren't for all those mindless deathmatches... As a V:M P&P player, I know a bit about how hard it is to narrate a session the proper way, and how little narrators there are that can actually pull it off (instead of, for example, playing out another Tzimisce/Sabbat/Werewolf hunt and gorefest), so I suppose it's all the harder in Redemption multiplayer... Too bad, really. Oh well, it's another year or so until Bloodlines arrives, let's hope that'll be better ;)
