I've got these really expensive Deadric greaves ... Where I got them ... well, let's say I have my own means. You wouldn't happen to know someone who'd be ready to cough up about 44000 gold for them, now would you? Or at least somebody who's got that kind of money ...

AHHHHAA - gotcha, busted. There's only one set of greaves that's not part of a suit.

But back to your query: you have 3 choices and 2 merchants to deal with: a) Creeper (5 000g) in Caldera, b) the Mudcrab (10 000g) on an island near Molag Mar, c) Creeper but with 50 000g based on a mod.

Unless you have the mod, the merchant must have a way of allowing you to buy back sufficient goods such that you can resell them to him when his money supply returns after 24 hrs.

i.e. Sell Creeper the greaves and buy back 39 000g worth of stuff in the same transaction. Wait where you are 24hrs - he will have another 5 000g. Sell him something worth 5 000 of the stuff you just purchased. Repeat.

Sound boring? - it is, but if you want the money that's the only way. Unless you get the mod. :D

2 things:

There is a 4th way - cheat using the concole. I don't know the commands, and don't want to.

As an addendum to the above, it stands to reason that Creeper must have sufficient inventory with pricetags at or near 5 000g for this to work. I find that using common soul gems with ash slaves or ash zombies (4 000g) and lesser soul gems with bull netch (1 000g) makes for very convenient 'currency'.

SPOILER (highlight)
These soul gems can usuall be found with Bonelords. Most creatures respawn in 72 hours, but sticking around one tomb for several days may be too boring as well.

Unfotunately not. Enchanting is hit or miss at the best of times (100 enchant), and enchanting something does not increase its value.

well there is the buying trick from enchanters.

if you enter the barter screen, then cancel (or have a transaction) then go to the enchant menu, any cash you pay for the enchantment goes into their pool of money.

so esp if you are buying "constant effect" enchants there will be a lot of cash involoved, and it's a good time to sell excess high priced items, most enchanters will buy all weapons / armours.
