Problems with Aarin Gend

In chapter 2 I'm supposed to be able to complete two quests in Kendrack's barracks: Aribeth's Tale and Aarin's Tale. After I complete Aribeth's Tale in a good way she gives me her ring. I've checked a few FAQs and I'm supposed to get an amulet from Aarin for completing his quest in a good way, but when I do, he just calls me a friend and his quest is complete but I don't get any amulet. My character is a male, but I don't think that should really affect anything. Can anyone help me out?

I can't remeber anything about a quest with Arin Gend in Chap 2, but I only played through the game once (as yet) so there might very well be.......

I think you only get the amulet if you're female. I've played it through with both sexes, but only got the amulet as a female.
