Need Help in Chamber of Sorcery

I'm at the Black Raven Monastery and for the life of me I think I might have run into a bug. I'm in Heart of Fury Mode. Chamber of sorcery were there is blue disk that give you immunity to electricity and green ones that the monks appear on. I keep wailing on the monks but it says monk was immune to my damage and thus they are basically unscathed. I've laid into them with all kinds of weapons and still uninjured.
I figure I could be hurting them, just that its a battle of my endurance or what. I did pause and save the game after the second trial and then reloaded it. Does this have anything to do with it?
Any feedback would be great. I'd really like to pass this part.

Actually I did and it was to no avail. I went back and tried again, but I noticed they soke like upto 20 points of damage. I can rarly strike for that much and it takes forever to get a critical or even wear them down. I think I am experencing a bug or game flaw.

Any feedback would be really helpfull.
Thank you

I'll make mine Targos

A second note, I noticed the damage from a summoned creature. Also the spells were fail by immunity and spell resistance. It does not even look like that they would hurt them.

they soak(sic) like up to 20 points of damage.

That sounds like Perfect Self to me, which is absolutely reasonable - so I don't think it's a bug. Also, monks have natural spell resistance and improved evasion, so targeting them with direct damage is a no-no. (this is why I love monks - high level monks are ridiculously powerful)

What I do at this stage in Heart of Fury is use level 9 summons (and hope it's a Remorhaz since they do mega-damage, but the others can get the job done as well). The time delay is enough for you to get off one summon, so do that and then run your character around until both of the crystal monks select your summoned creature to attack, now you can either cast aegis if you are a mage or divine shell if you are a cleric, or summon another creature - this ensures that you don't even have to watch out for the blue circles since the monks will shoot the summons instead of you. If you are a cleric you can also mass heal occasionally to keep your creatures around longer. Just stay out the way and let the summons do the work.

Engaging them in melee combat is very risky unless you have a high level monk, in which case they would have no problem (works for all the chambers in fact - which makes sense since the place was designed by monks)

So, I gather from LightningPig, that this normal. I can beat them, like you told me. You aided me with the jellies and now the Sorcer Monks. Thanks, I'll look into this.

Well, I did it. Thanks LightningPig. I summoned two greater bonegards with my Level 22 Wizard. They remain for a long time and are virtually imune to electricity. They were only doing 1 or 2 points a strike, so I basically just witteled them down very slowly. I had a little help for an efreeti. Thanks again LP..

Now that I'm here, I could use some tactical advice for the next chamber of clockwork monks (3), where there is blades and grinders on the floor. I'll attemp this, but it is tough, I know that.

I have finished the Monk trials and now have the option to go to the underdarek. I have not yet yet went to the third floor of the monastery cavern gates. So if I'm correct I think I can go as far as Oswald's ship to back track to the battle squares. Can any one verify this? I could gggo finish the squares now.?.,. I could slay the monks now? I could slay the dwarf now? I want to do all three of these things. Can anyone give me a good firing order for caring out my plan. I know I will see some of the dark dwarfs in the cavern gate enterance below the monastery. Should I kill them or the monks first or the dwarfs at the hook horror caverns first?

Yes, you can travel all the way back to the ice temple from the monastery.

This, I believe would maximize your gains: (I'm not sure because I've never taken the 'kill the monks' quest)

1. Go to the duergar barracks and get the 'kill the monks' quest.
2. Go to the monastery and kill the monks.
3. Go back to the duergar barracks and collect your reward.
4. Insult the duergar about their slave-owning ways
5. Kill the duergar.

Do me a favor and take note of the item rewards you get from the duergar (if any) - then post your results here, I'm curious as to what the result will be. Again I must reiterate I'm not totally sure of process, since I've never actually done that.

Ok, what I need to know is should try and confront the Dark Dwarfs under the monastery. Will they be friendly to me if I kill the monks. If I could I would like to kill the monks, Of course, Iv'e passed the eight trials, so would I get exp. ffor killing them? Then go the under dark and possibly be rewarded. Kill them, then go back to the dwarf carverns and kill the rest? Or will this approch not yeild the exp. I think the dwarfs at the cavern will give me items as well?

I'm not really sure what the question is, but this is how I interpret it: you want to know if you can kill the monks and then go straight to the underdark passage and hopefully collect your reward there (when Barud and Co. show up) instead of returning to the duergar barracks.

To be honest, I've never really tried it so I can't give you a definitive answer. My guess would be that you wouldn't be able to, due to the nature of the duergar. Of course, you could always split your saves and try both scenarios - but that's just me talking.
