2 Questions Concerning a Fighter Guild Quest

My inquiry is for clarification and not to find out where so an so is, etc. If you have not played the Fighters Guild Quests yet you may want to skip this.
Anyway, I have finished the Balmora FG quests and now I am on the first quest Percius Mercius gave me out of the Fighters Guild in Ald-Ruhn. I get to Vas and meet my escort/fighting partner Ulyne Henim who is standing at the entrance to Velothi dome where the necromancer who we are eliminate is located. We enter and almost immediately encounter a lessor bonewalker and some ancstral ghosts. The battle is fast and furious and in the melee' Ulyne keeps getting in the way of my sword (Percius warned she was young, energetic, and full steam ahead in her approach). The battle ends but I keep taking damage and come to find out my partner is wailing away on me. I fight back and manage to kill her. I conclude one of two things. Either a) she is a fake and meant to turn on me, or b) I accidently wounded her a few times in the battle and she saw it as deliberate and therefore decided to kill me. I am thinking that answer "b" is the more correct. So here are my questions: 1) Anyone else experienced this turn of events? and 2) If I do complete the quest and return to Percius Mercius will the fact that I had to kill Ulyne Henim going to disrupt the game flow in any way, i.e., my stance with the guild, further orders? Thanks.

she's not supposed to fight you, you must of wounded her, i'm not sure if that screws up the quest or not.
iirc she's also the summoner of those ancestral ghosts...

Ulyne is summoning the ancestral ghosts. They are on your side in the battles so don't attack them. Best way to play these escort quests is to go in by yourself in advance and clear out just about everything except the final target. Then go back and pick up Ulyne. Now you only have the one battle to fight together and much less confusion. I hope in your Balmora fighters guild quests you didn't do anything evil like kill Sotilde for the code book. Fire-eyes is a bad person and some of her quests are not legit. Percius will tell you which fighters guild quests are okay and which are dubious.

Hmm, well Uncle Scratchy your response raises a few more questions for me.
1. Yes, I got the code book from Soltide but I actually bribed her before doing so and we left on the best of terms. Now you got me concerned though. I have done all of the quests that Fire-Eyes could send me on. I didn't like the bounty one, but I thought that was legit. Now I am questioning the whole thing...
2. How does one make someone like Ulyne stay behind? Is there a request or command option?
3. Ancestral Ghosts on my side??? Ooops! By the way, how good are they in a fight anyway?
Thanks to both Uncle and koz-ivan for such quick responses. Much appreciated!

So far you are ok, EXCEPT, you will not be allowed into the Thieves Guild. The problem hinges around the code book. Twice now I have played the game through and twice I did the FG first then the TG and twice I had to use a console command to enter the TG because of that damn book. If you enter the TG before getting the book, I THINK you get banned from the TG when you acquire it from her. GOOD LUCK.

The best solution is to not talk to your companion prior to entering the building. There a few quests like this. Sometimes when you have someone trailing you, you can open a conversation with them that will allow them to stay put while you go ahead. Note that nothing will attack them while they are alone; the attack will be directed only at you and they will take your side (however feebly).

Level 1.

Ah, man, I was going to join the Thieves Guild next. So, j0cser, just what is that console command that I have to do and when and where should I apply it? Thanks.
Level 1 for Ancestral Ghosts?! When there is Daedra about?!?! Can you say, "Battle Fodder"?

The last post links to a complete list of console commands:

Actually there's a better way:

That's what summon spells are all about - distracting the opponent and soaking up some of their spells etc.

I stole the code book from her and did'nt get expelled so I know it can be done - stumbling thru in my own inept way

If you would have talked to Percius Mercius in Ald'ruhn about the code book he would have advised you that it was a legit quest but that you shouldn't kill Sotilde - so you were okay in that respect. But it does ban you from the TG. Best bet is to join the TG before going for the book. Sotilde will tell you that its a Commona Tong code book, that Fire-eyes is in league with the CT and that you need to decide where your allegiance lies. I'm not sure what the bounty quest was - if it was to kill the orc in Balmora you are okay. Percius would have told you that the orc is a murderess. Most of the Vivic FG quests are evil so check with Percius on them before acting. All the Sadrith Mora FG quests are good. Any FG quest that has you collecting debt money is bad.

No command options - just don't talk to her beforehand.

She would have attacked you because you attacked her ghosties. I've noticed that if you summon several critters and attack one of them then they'll ALL attack you(dremora are so sweet looking after their little ancestral ghosty friends). Oh and having someone following you around seems to have the same script as a conjured beast.
