What Items Would You Choose to Enchant?

I was able to soultrap two Golden Saints. I have also been able to acquire a number of Deadric weapons, a few ebony weapons, and I have an almost full set of Glass armor, plus a Glass frostsword (long).
I decided to go ahead and just have an Enchanter do the work. In your experience, what would you guys choose to enchant, weapons, armor, rings? Also, I notice that Golden Saints are worth 80000 as compared to a Hunger at only a 1000. My question is, is the Golden Saint able to enchant several items as compared to a Hunger? I'm still trying to figure this out.

A golden saint is worth more because it gives an item more charges, and can do constant effect enchantments. I would enchant a weapon with some extra damage or paralize or something, and probably make a ring or something with a constant effect boost for my stats or something.

My favorite weapon is an axe I had enchanted with high frost damage in a 5 foot radius on striking my target. If I had the money, I'd boost the damage as high as I could and in about a 10 foot radius. Playing a Nord, it's like strapping a bomb on yourself and getting in the middle of a group and setting it off. (Gotta love Nord immunity to frost damage
)
Paralysis is great too. Nothing quite like beating down an immobile opponant.
One thing I always wanted....a set of armor with constant regeneration.

Each soul is only good to enchant one item. You can't use one soul to enchant muliple items. The stronger the soul the more charges/effects you can put into that item.

Of course even better than a damage spell is Absorb Health on a weapon, so you get healed by hitting anyone.

i was wondering about that, but have heard bad things about the "fortify health" type items and feared it worked the same way.
what happens to the opponents health at the end of the duration?

There are plenty of good enchanted weapons and armor in the game so rather than make something similar to what you can get for free I would rather enchant a shield, pants, ring, amulet or shirt. If I only had two golden saint soul gems I would make one a CE levitation item and the other a CE dual heal/walk on water item. Later on I'd make a CE nighteye item. Lastly I'd make some CE fortify strength items and maybe a paralyzing wakazashi sword.

By the way Uncle Scratchy, remember how you asked me about the place I locked picked a closet in a weapons shop and discovered an Axe with a Soultrap 30 second spell? Well I'll tell you so here is a spoiler...

It is in Balmora in The Razor's Hole. If you leave the Fighter's Guild (or Mage's Guild) and turn right your 'll pass stairs on your left that lead to the upper tier of this city, i.e., House Hlaulu. After you pass those stairs there is a door on your left under a cross walk. Across from The Razor's Hole is The Eight Plates.
When you enter the Razor the closet door you want is in front of you and immediatly on your right is a guard who is absolutely clueless that you even lockpick this 80 level lock. You can't miss this axe. The owner of the shop is around the corner and is totally blind to anything you are doing. Let me tell ya, he has some really nice weapons and if I knew this when I began I would have been set a whole lot sooner in the game. (though better weapons do come along later) Check it out, you'll see.
By the way, I have one of those Daedric Wakizashi's and according to the Official Guide, if I am reading it right, this weapon has the highest enchantment ability in the game. The second is the Daedric Shortsword. I believe I got one of those, also. For comparison the Daedric Battle Axe and War Axe are 16 and 15 respectively, though the former can put out major damage as is!
Hey, Uncle S. Just a few more questions ( I truly appreciate you and others taking the time to help):
a. Why paralyze instead of fire or frost damage?
b. Let's say I use a Grand Soul Gem with a Golden Saint on the Wakizashi and I still have enchantment points that I can fill on this blade. What would you suggest?
c. If a weapon is already enchanted, can you add to it or is it as is and no more than what has been placed on it?
Thanks.

I use Goden Saints souls for constant effect enchant rather than use them for weapons until I get too many GS souls. Exquisit cloth and accessories, such as pants and rings, for CE fortify strength, CE levitation, and CE restore fatigue are very useful.
I don't like making high charge weapons. They are powerful, but it takes ages to restore their magicka back once it's used up. I rather carry a few weapons with less power and charge (I often use common souls). I can even make them by myself without help from enchanter.

with only two saint souls, i'd not waste one on a ce levitate item, you can easily get as much bang from a 30 sec or so charged levitate cast on use item. (later on in the game when you have a surplus of these items then it's fine)
the first ce item i make is always a split restore fatigue / restore health item, usually an exquisit ring. if you want to get fancy you can squeeze in some night eye or other minor effect.
after that it's usually fortify strength.
waterbreathing or water walking can be pretty handy (water breathing more so since there are times when you want to swim)
sometimes an item w/ multiple bound weapon & armour spells can be pretty cool, otoh once you can make these items chances are you don't need them...
and ican't say enough good things about nighteye, ideallly i have a few nighteye items that can be equipped when going into dark places.

a. I really like an paralyzing wakasashi for those few occassions where you have multiple attackers and you need something quick and deadly. What's important in these fights is that you disable all your opponents long enough to get more hits in on the others. If you do it right they're all paralyzed just long enough for you to get another strike in and paralyze them again. I've fought three opponents at a time this way without them being able to do any serious damage to me. With paralyze you are buying time which is more important than the extra damage.
b. Poison if it will fit, though I doubt it will. I just make it a pure paralyzer. Go for extra time or wider area of effect to use up the points. You can always play around with it and see what fits and what doesn't. Also the order in which you pick dual enchantments can affect how it uses up the available points.
c. Once an item is enchanted its done with, you can't alter it in any way.
You will be swimming in golden saint/ascended sleeper stones before long. More than you will have a use for. I probably have a dozen or so of them just laying around by mid game and have nothing else I want to enchant. I'll stick with my recommendation for a CE levitation ring/amulet and a heal/water walking item for my first two picks. I don't need the strength as I play the early part of the game with assassin or glass light armor and rely on mark/recall to get my loot back to Creeper. Not much can harm you in the air, even mage spells can be easily dodged. Same goes for WoW - attack something while on the surface of some water and they have to swim to try to get to you - more likely they'll just stand there on the shore as if you don't exist while you pump them with arrows.

I've found a couple of handy items to make with an 80000 charge soul gem is a ring or an amulet worth 240 which will give you a 120 charging capacity. My favorite is 100% Sanctuary for 30 seconds because they literally cannot touch you while you beat the crap out of them. The other one is 100% Blind and I think you can get 30 seconds out of that one too. Pretty similar to Sanctuary in that they can't hit what they can't see. BTW, 2 CE items I carry with me all time are the Necromancer's Amulet and Azura's Ring cuz between them health and stamina are replenished plus I think some Spell Absorption in there too. Oh yeah, and Night Eye.

One of my first picks is a constant-effect levitation item. It's annoying having to wait for levitation to wear off so I can sneak around, or having it wear off inconveniently in the middle of an aerial battle (I love chasing down cliff racers
).

Something else I've done with the rings and amulets is to do a CE bound (insert weapon) which has no weight so it dose'nt affect how much you can carry. I've found though that even when the enchanted ring is not in my inventory I still have the weapon so I don't know how to get rid of it. Not really a bad thing though since they don't take up space. Of all the weapons I've found in the game I still rely on my bound Daedric Battle Axe for maximum carnage. The thing just shreds.
BTW the bound weapons have a slightly lower damage rating than the regular ones... I think.

In my experience, bound weapons have massively higher higher damage than regular ones.

It's a bug in the game that even the expansion didn't get rid of. In my latest game, my bound bow somehow became permanent even without a constant-effect item.
