Tomb question

I just got the game today. While I was walking around heading to the 2nd city, I came across a tomb. The first time I went in I encounterd a skeleton archer and a zombie like monster, that killed me. The 2nd time I went in I was jumped by a ghost of some kind that I cant kill with my weapon. Is there a way to kill him, or do I just have to trap him in a room, like I did before another group of skeles killed me?

You gotta have enchanted or silver weapons to hit these types of creatures

Just get to Balmora and don't worry at the moment about wiping out undead in tombs just yet. Start doing the quests given to you and you'll quickly grow in strength and stats and can assault all kinds of creatures.
And, as Bloodstalker said, you can't hit ghosts with an ordinary weapon. When you're in town buy (or steal) a silver or magical weapon. However, killing those ghosts in that tomb you mentioned is given to you as a quest - can't remember who by - and you are given a suitable weapon to do the job.
