So the problem is the one described in the title. Without an exception my CPU usage jumps up to 100% whenever BG2 is running. Although I have quite a powerful computer gameplay suffers greatly from this problem. I wonder if the problem could be in DirectX 9.0a? I'm running Windows XP and I have a Asus A7V333 motherboard, AMD Athlon XP2000+, 512mb RAM and a GF4 Ti-4800SE which has Detonator 43.45 drivers installed. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried downloading the latest patch, and the altest drivers?

I have the newest patch installed so maybe I'll just try changing the drivers. Hope that helps
