Help please

I am stuck in the game, and I cannot find the ancient rusted key in order to get to some places that I need to get to. I have the ring, the problem is now I cannot get out, do I need to install the new patch that is out????Please if someone can help I would appreciate it as I am getting very frustrated.

There is a known bug that causes this key not to show where it should thus forbiting access to certain areas at the Main Halls.
From what i know this was resolved in the later patches so i would suggest to patch your game but in order for this to work you will also have to restart the game.
If it helps you are not needed to enter these areas to finish the game.
