Parity back to magic users...

Ok, we all know this...if your pc is a breton with atronach, you can pretty much skip magic in the game, your combined spell absorbtion and magic resistance will make you almost invulnerable to magic from the beginning, and you find out pretty much that magic is not all that useful in the game, most of the greater monsters, like daedra and ascended sleepers and ash creatures are pretty nasty about reflect and what ever spells you cast don't seem to do as much as a good bash with a mace.
so it looks like magic is mostly support in morrowind for the combat types, right? well, I found a reliable series of spells that if you spent the time working with, and making powerful enchanted items, you may make magic your primary offensive weapon, and religate the bruiser of a monster dai katana to second weapon choice...
to put it quite simply, do on to others what they are doing to you!!!
open up tes, and take a look at what spells dagoth ur and vivec use...they use damage attribute!!!
why is that so important? simply this...damage attribute is the weapon of choice that the monsters in the game use on you, so you should try it on them...and I found myself having immense FUN!!!
I loaded up a spell maker spell that damged strength and speed in a ranged attack, and used it on a poor helpless dremora...it couldn't MOVE!!! it just stood there, and looked at me, while I slowly whacked it to death after soul trapping it...
so I discovered by exploration that by using damage attribute spells, that if you drain most monsters of strength, speed and intelligence, they basically become practice dummys for your sword...having a hard time with a mod bad guy? drain its strength, and watch him get so encumbered by his own armor, he just stands there and takes it from you while you pepper him with arrows...why drain intelligence? drop it to zero, and the golden saint can no longer cast spells...
my most powerful ring was a damage strength, speed and intelligence...I also had a version for magical monsters that had a dispell, damage willpower and intelligence...then hit it with the first ring for the easy kill...
oh, make sure you have rings or amulets that can restore your attributes...cause its very embarressing to be hit by many reflects and find you can't move either...
and don't bother with drain or absorb attributes, damage them, and unless the monster has restore attribute items, which to my experience they never do, you can burn down their strength and speed to nothing, and use a bow or more magic to finish them off...
this little discovery allowed me to have fun being a magic user again!!!
