When I first got it about a year ago I was addicted, it kinda goes down after the first month. Then a long time later you get sick of it and put it away for about a month. Guess what? It doesn't stay put away for long...

AAAAAAAAAARGGGG!!!!!!!!
I finally got framerate to acceptable levels...hint, dma!!!
(direct memory access for the hard drive)
but the bleeding dependencies between morrowind, tribunal and bloodmoon are driving me bonkers!!! I have a few mods that load up all three, and its driving me wonky whenever i update the esp files with the latest patch!!!
plus all the global script running mods are really slowing down my system...I think tomorrow I will uninstall, and rebuild my mods again on a fresh install...running about 20...decided to drop blood and gore, since I think this one is my worst in framerate hog..
I NEED A Better Machine!!!!

On Xbox the only thing it does is freeze every long once and a while and says "this disk is dirty or damaged". Surprisingly its fps rate remains constant at high speeds of running, while on xbox it doesn't. But it does seem to crash more...

Are you talking about all those annoying dialog error messages? Check
here.

Soj, I knew about the dialog messages, and simply accepted them when I ran into them...I know about the dependencies morrowind esm and bloodmoon esm and tribunal esm...and how they all hate each other...I really should edit morrowind.ini like the patch readme suggested, but the techie part of me forces me to read each error, in case I see a new one...yes, I am somewhat (deleted) retentive...
jofus, I am running win 98...if you read the readme very carefully, fps is NOT recommended for running on anything that doesn't use win 32 subsystem...it recommends nt, or xp or 2000...
as it is, I am running with dma, edited system.ini, and quadratic lighting instead of linear, high cache for outdoors areas, and the lowest resolution.. and I still hate rain...drops my framerate to the basement...sigh...well, this year, when I go back to work, I plan to spend around 3 grand getting a souped up gaming machine...I work with computers, so that's not really going to be hard to make the money....something really really hot...ultra high speed systems bus, fastest processor, and a half grand or more just on the graphics card...I really am entitled, since I've spent over a year of hell passing my ccnp...one more test to go..sigh..

Would you mind sending me your specs? I tweaked my mw.ini and the game seems to be running well, but I cannot see anything in the distance (big fog). I always wondered what the linear and quadratic were for.

No, you're just a glutton for punishment.

I won't play the game without it - especially Bloodmoon.

To where do you extract it and when do you run it?

Sorry for the delay j0ckser. It should have a readme file but I extracted it to the MW data files I think (can't remember, I'm on a different computer right now). Anyway it is a stand alone program. I made a shortcut to it on my desktop so after I open it I launch MW directly from there. Hope that helps.
Well I checked and since it is a stand alone you can extract it anywhere, does'nt have to be in MW at all.

When I first got the game over a year ago, I would come in from work at 10:30pm, and play untill around 8:30am in the morning, take a bit of a nap before work again at 12:00pm. That lasted about 6 months
Now I only play it for about 4 hours at a time
