Advice on Druid Party Formation for RP

I'm thinking about forming a party of neutral characters with the idea of keeping the balance between good and evil. Obviously Jaheira would be the only definit NPC to start with.
I would like to keep numbers down to three or four and am thinking of using two or three multi created characters.
Cernd also comes to mind, not so sure on him though- what sort of Druid is he again?
A quick party outline to give you an idea would be:
Jaheira NPC
Multi Driud Thief
Multi Ranger Priest
Cernd (?)
or
Multi Fighter Avenger
Totally prepared to SK the characters but i'm not looking for power combo's- i want a really role playing game were i do and don't do certain things depending on the class, any advice would be greatly appreciated, and any history or things i should keep in mind when RP ing druids.
Cheers

you can't have a druid-thief in SoA.
ranger-cleric will have to be of good alignment.
cernd is a shapeshifter druid.
my suggestion is to have your pc as a druid (or multy- or dual- class druid), add jaheira and the forget about druids and just add neutral npcs (anomen, jan)

It might be fun to play a BG2 game entirely with druids and rangers; a sort of eco-party.
You could have Jaheira, Cernd, Minsc and Valygar as companions, with either one or two PCs of your own. All interactions would be filtered first through a consideration of how choices affect the world and local environs, then whether they seriously damage the natural balance and harmony of the universe. Fortunately, in BG2, Evil is everywhere pushing against Good, so for the most part you can take the side of the underdog and come out smelling like roses instead of rose fertilizer.

You cannot multi/dual an Avenger, since this is a kit and not a class. Avengers become seriously powerful later in the game, so are worth considering as a single class if you like a bit of power alongside role play, and they also have the advantage of a mage spell per level up to level 5.
Just my personal opinion
A druid is not an easy class to multi, since they have a stat requirement that does not easily compliment other classes. I would agree with Fable and go for an eco-party, you may need to balance this party with a mage/thief though.

What happened to the eco-squad or whatever they were called build up around this concept. they had a post once. maybe you could get the eco-whatever leader to give you some tips

Thanks for the replies, I have little experience with multi class or druids for that matter either so advice is much appreciated.
Been thinking some more and heres a better idea at the sort of party i want
Multi Fighter/Druid (shapeshifter)
Multi Ranger/Cleric (Priest of Helm) (SK to neutral)
Multi Cleric/Thief (not sure, either bounty hunter or swash, what do you think?
Plus the beloved Jaheira (maybe old man Cernd too)
Are these combos possibly with a little tinkering?
BTW- i hate the need for a thief (i hate thieves)- any ways around this?
Hopefully with the limited number this party could really gain strength near the end of the game and into ToB.
Will i have enough good weapons to share around considering the ethos of these classes?
Cheers

Actually, Cleric/Thief is great with ToB installed with Use Any Item ability. She/he can wear any armour and use any shield, and with high DEX, she/he can't be hit.
I'd go for Swashbuckler for whirlwind attack.
I have one with Dwarf (only dwarf and half-elf can be cleric/thief multi, I believe) for skill bonuses and high immunity. she's especially useful when other characters are under spell/poison/charm, because she's normally successful at saving against them, and can cast dispel/cure/cure poison etc to save her mates.

A mage can cast knock to open locked containers, and a druid can cast detect traps, but only a thief class can disarm a trap.
Re your druid/fighter. If you plan to use the Shapeshifter kit, you cannot dual to a fighter (as with the Avenger, the Shapeshifter is a kit, not a class) However, all druids have some shapeshifting abilities, but it is only the Shapeshifter kit that has werewolf/greater werewolf.
Do you intend to create three party members? or are the three you mentioned what you are trying to decide between? If you are intending to take Jaheira along, I would advise your protagonist is a single class druid. The main reason being is that if you multi, you will not get full access to all the high level spells/abilities. Also, you can only multi a generic druid, try one of the druid kits, they are fun
I would say the same about your cleric too, high level cleric abilities are pretty cool
So how about
Protagonist - a single class druid kit
Minsc/Valygar - Ranger
Jaheira - fighter/druid
Anomen - (fighter)/cleric (he is awesome as he levels up)
Jan/Imoen - mage/thief

I'm using shadow keeper to make my Fighter/Druid (shapeshifter) which needed a little tinkering- so a have a fighter who can wear no armour and can shapeshift in werewolf's (man i love three attacks per round
).
Sorry for confusion- i am making three PC's to take throught with Jaheira and using SK to get the role playing aspects rigth.
Bummer about having to have a thief (i have gone with elf cleric/swashbuckler)- having to go sideways on the user interface panel to get the open locks (thieving) button is gay- anyways around this?
Thanks for the input

Gutted, saved over my saved game- o well, have to start again (thats what happens when you play two games at once and used quick save as the primary save
)
Anyway- do you think it would be wrong from a role playing point of view to kill all the dragons for there amour for my druids? after all im playing to restore natures balance.
What do you think?
