Can anyone tell me how many Version of Buldars Gate are there. The first one I played was Dark Alliance on the Playstation2, I have now bought SoA on the Mac, what is the running order of all of them in this series?
Cheers

Baldur's Gate 1 came first, then Shadows of Amn, and the expansion pack Throne of Bhaal finished it off. BG
A isn't a sequel.

Also, there is an expansion pack to Baldur's Gate I, which is known as 'Tales of the Sword Coast'.

I made the entire list seconds after you asked and then we had a power shortage. Well it went like this
Baldurs Gate (BG)
Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast (BG: TSC or TSC)
Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn (SoA)
Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal (ToB)
And that ends the saga of the bhaalspawn

Where does Dark Alliance fit into it then on the PS2?

Dark Alliance is just a shameless exploitation of the franchise
. The only link they have is that DA is set in Baldurs Gate.

yae it was an attempt to see if RPGs (which had then become more and more popular on the computer (PC, Mac etc)) could make a success in the game console as well...... IMO it couldn't but quite a few ppl seem to have liked it, personally I think that you're limited when you can't use the mouse....but that 's just what I think and has no real effect on the world

Well, I suppose that it's not...... I must say that I only watched a
few (meaning one person) others play it....... and never got much into any part of it...it all just seemed a big mumbo jumbo all the time......

@Zel has it right. The series was dropped after BG2, but the franchise name was shamelessly exploited in an effort to boost sales off non-RPG games.

yae well that's how many businesses is run today and for some odd reason it seems to work. A lot of ppl bought DA bc of the BG name....some liked it and some didn't.....but that's life....you can't have it all

Oh, I was about to say that while IWD and IWD2 were infinity engine games, they weren't in the same series. Thats just the chronological order... now it makes sense.
