No you do not need ToB to play the monk. Although I would get ToB at the same time as SoA just for continuities sake. (ToB continues the story) Oh and a good choice as a first character (if your playing monk that is). Monk was my first character I used.

I know, they look so cool with the kung fu fighting animation, it might be worth it for the graphics alone!!!
Nice thing is, if I ever choose the monk it will be hacked multi monk mage or monk cleric, like Bodhi! who is also a monk cleric. I once cntrl qed her and was I suprised!!!

You can't dual the monk, without SK... a *gasp* CHEATING program. Of course just because it triples the replay value doesn't mean its cheating....

i wish there were more races. i love the rakshasa, and some of the other avatars are cool, too.
as big a leap BGI was from standard rpgs (for me anyway, went from linear final fanatasy games to BG where you could actually choose what you wanted to say), then to BGII where you could choose whether to follow the plot or pick from among tons of subquests, BGIII should let you play from any aspect of faerun.

Is it possible to use SK to create a dualed monk or a multi monk? If so the how?

choose multi class fighter cleric, or fighter anything. open in sk
in the second tab of sk is char attributes. you should see class fighter cleric, for example, and under kit, none.
change to monk. you're set.
this works since monk is subset of the fighter kit.

Which version of SK do you have? Monk is not a kit in my version. Too bad! Would have been cool.

The more I think about it the more I would like to play as a multiclassed monk. Are you sure you can do it with SK? Please explain which version and soforth.

Playing a Monk is the way to go; not sure about multi-classing one though.
