Why does a long chunk of metal hurt a large guy in plate mail?Try it with club and you'll break his ribs! Why isn't this implimented/Implimented better?

The various weapon vs. armor bonuses have been implemented into the game, craig. Just check the "armor adjustment" on the character record.

actually, a club against full plate would be pretty useless.Try hitting a wall with a branch? And forget about punching it, ala monk.

For sword, its not so much cutting through, as it is slipping the sword between the cracks of the armor.Thats why better armor makes your ac lower, not that your hrder to hit, but theres less chance of anything happening if u do get hit.

And if you want to talk sharp, how bout swords against a earth elemental? How bout anything against water elemental, or air elemental?Lots of things don't make sense.

Consider if the sword is magic though...incising metal plate like butter. Perhaps the magic sword does fire or acid damage. Fire damage could evaporate an air elemental. Acid could change the chemical properties of water elemental. A cold damage weapon would also be interesting against a water elemental, but only until it thaws, but suppose you shattered the frozen elemental before thawing. You can do anything with magic swords, I think. Also, if I had a club, I would go for the head. The acceleration/deceleration brain injury regardless of the helmet. Think NFL.

Consider if the sword is magic though...
That's the answer to all the inconsistencies, physical impossiblities, and other strange elements of D & D.

It's magic!!!
