Daggerfall VS Morrowind

Since I haven't tried Morrowind out yet, I was wondering how good it is. Mainly, I want to know how similar it is to the age old classic Daggerfall.

Is it just as immense?

Is there still an endless amount of quests?

Can you still make your own class?

The skill/level system stuff is still the same... Right?

In what ways does Morrowind outshine Daggerfall?

I've never played Daggerfall, but I can answer some of your questions:

1) Don't know, but it's absolutely huge.

2) Not endless per se, but there are a lot.

3) Yes!

4) I understand they're quite similar.

1) Yes, it's large as hell. You could easily spend hours just going from one place to another on foot. Although fast travel is available, for a price.
2) Yes. There are numerous guild quests, great house quests, miscellaneous quests, and of course, the main quest.
3) Yes, you can still make your own class. Although you can't name it.
4) I didn't play that much Daggerfall, so I'll just describe the skill system. You increase in skills that you use a lot. For example, if you keep sneaking around, your Sneak skill increases.
5) First of all, the graphics. Morrowind has possibly the best graphics ever seen in a CRPG. Be warned, the game runs on a fairly unstable graphics engine that could even bring a cutting edge PC down to its knees during large fights or when many things are rendered at once. Second, the fighting system has been improved. It's very easy to fight now, with a few keys to press. Compared to Daggerfall, Morrowind has very few bugs.

Basically, if you love Daggerfall, you are going to love Morrowind. Also, the expansions Tribunal and Bloodmoon add a lot of value to the game.

Yes, you can. ;) Just press backspace to delete 'Adventurer' and type in a new name.

@Sojourner:

Damn, this means that I've been playing for a year without naming my class. Thanks for pointing it you. Just when you thought you got the game figured out...

Don't feel too bad, it doesn't show up anywhere. I din't realise it could be changed either, but...

Thanks for the replies, guys. I think, if I ever upgrade my POS computer, I'll go out and get myself a copy of Morrowind. :)

@Garrett:

It's against forum rules to use profanity/vulgarity, even if it's abbreviated.

Also, don't expect Morrowind to run so smoothly like butter. Even the top of the line computer still lags in huge outdoor areas in the game.

You can help a bit ajusting AI Distance and View Distance sliders, though. Real time shadows are cool, altogether tey consume a lot, too.

Daggerfall was way way way bigger areawise (both wilderness and dungeon size, have walked around in some immense dungeons in Daggerfall).
Otherwise, in all other departments - Morrowind is better.
