Cant Reload Saved Games

I have worked my way down to the prisons in the Drow catacombs. However I saved and logged off for the night. Now when I try to reload the game loads and then the program dumps almost immediately.
I have tried this save game on all 3 of my PC's and the same happens. I tried restarting the game and after a week of playing got close to the same point and the same thing happened.
I am running Version 1.4, Is there another patch? I really dont want to spend another week trying to get to the same point. and dont see any point in playing if I cant get past the prisons.
