i was just wondering...
apart from lore, are there any other bonuses to having high (16-18) wisdom?
i know u get extra 1st-4th level spells if you're a priest... but do u also get these extra spells if youre a wizard or bard? i'm pretty sure u dont, but just making sure
and what about the saving roll bonus against spells? does that apply to everyone or just clerics?
thanks for the help in advance

Wisdom bonus doesn't give extra spells to mages or bads no.
Only Wisdom using spellcasters like clerics or druids .... it is just like high intelligence doens't help druids or clerics to cast spells.
As for savethrows I'm not sure, I need my manual to look that up (can't remember 2.ed rules anymore
)

wisdom saving throws bonuses apply to everyone, not just priests (clerics and druids). sadly, the these bonuses are not implememnted in the game engine...

Yeah - I wasn't sure if save throws were influenced by stats in BG1 (and BG2) - am used to 3.ed rules where there is a Wisdom based save throw

I have noticed that characters with low widom *cough* Minsc *cough* tend to get dominated more easily by the Sirines in BG1 and by the vampires in BG2. However, I can't really prove that this is a result of savng throw bonuses, and people have told me that it is just a coincidence.

if you have your PC as ANY class with at least 13 wisdom by the end of BG1, and keep it that way throughout BG2, you'll find a fun twist to a quest. I won't spoil further if anyone reading this hasn't gotten too far in that game.

PM me please? Sense I (usually) keep my wisdom at least that high, I have no clue what your talking about. (Plus I usually play my char only through BG2 because BG1's engine sucks)

Hmm- i would be insterested in knowing this also..
just write it in black text, then noone can get spoiled if they don't wish to.

We are saying that the abilities seems to have no effect on the savethrows - at least in BG1, am not to sure about BG2 also though.
Although in the BG1 manual it seems to indicate that they have implemented wisdom bonus in some save throws against mind effects (the mag.def. colum on p. 137)
So if this is implemented (am not sure still - I'll need to test it out to see) then wisdom above 16 gives bonus to saves against mind. effect.
